This was a neat spot just inside the South gate of the park. If you are arriving late, it is a great place to find a spot so you can be prepared to travel farther into the park the next day. We split a spot with another couple because there were no more spots left. We made friends with the...

We had reservations at Grant, but we were a day early. Had no idea things would be so crowded a week before closing! Drove to this campground, found a great spot for our 25 ft. trailer and spent a nice quiet night here. The lake is beautiful, and the atmosphere was wonderful.

There are few amenities here. However the campsites are fairly level and well taken care of. The camp hostess was awesome! She helped us find the right spot and we quickly set up our area. Don't go out at. night without a flashlight! This place is dark. Really dark. The toilets are a little gross. Why did I give it...

The Lewis Lake is right here and it is soooo beautiful!. It has a ramp for your boat, the campground gets very crowded during this time and is fine, but it is dry camping. I think it does not take RV's bigger than 24". This campground is 15 minutes away from Grant Village on the way out of the park.

We stayed for 2 nights in a tent. There are a couple of water spouts and primitive bathrooms. No running water or showers. Knowing this going in, it was very nice. Lots of trees separating us from the neighboring sites. Bear boxes and fire pits with grates were available. It was very quiet except for the coyotes we heard! It...

Me and my family stayed here one night. Overall the campground is nice and quite. Very relaxing as its away from most of the tourist spots in Yellowstone. Not too far but far away enough where you don't deal with too many people. The sites are a bit close together though so be prepared for that. If you have considerate...

The bathrooms are very poorly maintained; the campsites are right on top of one another; the first come first serve system is basically annoying if you're moving throughout the parks and trying to plan your visit. avoid staying here, though a visit to lewis lake and a hike down the outlet stream to the falls is worth it, for sure....

Tented at this campsite. I felt like there wasn't enough bathrooms/water spigots/garbage disposal for the amount of people who were staying here. Bathroom closest to us was filthy, and the next morning when they came to clean it, it smelled so badly of ammonia I almost passed out. Lewis Lake is wonderful though!

very quiet campground with many trees for privacy. great campground for tents and small pop-up campers. when you do pick your campsite, set up camp immediately as we noticed another camper remove a reserve tag from a campsite and move right in!

Lewis Lake offers dry camping on the road to the South entrance within Yellowstone. It is adjacent to a boat launch if you're a fisherman. The signs say maximum 25 ft RV, and I'd say this is accurate. We found a good level site for our 23 footer, and passed several others that would have been good options. There is...

“Choose a campsite on the edge of the campground as the center sites won't give as much privacy. You can see your neighbor through the trees. At least on the edge you won't have campers viewing you from 360 degrees.”
