Boy was I surprised when my husband brought me here! That was his intent, to surprise me, and he succeeded! I was definitely not expecting the cabins to be so bare, amenities wise, but that's only because I didn't do my homework. Here's a run-down of what you need to know: You get a small cabin with limited space and...

We stayed at the Roosevelt Roughrider Cabins in June 2014 for two nights. The cabins had a lot of positives: near the lodge, fewer people, abundant wildlife, easy navigation, and inexpensive. However, they also had some negatives: average food at the lodge, few attractions (especially for rainy days when we were there), poor service (we were given NO towels after...

Our family of two adults and two kids stayed two nights in cabin #96, one of the frontier cabins near Roosevelt Lodge, and it was perfect for what we were looking for: a clean, comfortable, charming place to sleep while we ventured out into the park. Our cabin had just enough room for two double beds, a small desk, and...

When we first booked this place, we didn't quite know what to expect and honestly, we were prepared for the worst. After staying at several different places around Yellowstone and Tetons, I'd probably say this was my favorite. We had one of those traditional tiny cabins without a bathroom. It was clean and the bathrooms/showers were only a short walk...

The atmosphere in the lodge is excellent. All travellers, passing through, camping or staying in basics lodges, mostly interested in spotting wildlife. Food was good, although restaurant does get busy and they have limited space, so have to choose your time. The accommodation is basic, but authentic, but be warned, if it is cold, you will have to light your...

We stayed in a "Frontier" cabin, which in Yellowstone means that you have your own shower/toilet in an extremely small room. The main room was large enough for two,but contained only one wooden chair and desk, two double beds and a sink. Clean enough, but needs an overhaul. Acceptable and expected. Next trip I'll bring a roll of duct tape to seal...

We have stayed at Roosevelt three times & love it for the close proximity to Lamar Valley, which is prime wildlife viewing area. The service & the food at the lodge are great-very friendly servers and a wonderful menu from ribs & trout to BBQ. The first two visits we had the cabins with the bathroom & heating, this time...

Be forewarned, only very few cabins have bathrooms. That said, I love this place. If you can handle walking to the bathroom at 3:00am, you'll like it here. The separate restroom buildings are clean, heated, with showers and HOT WATER. You'll need it. Most of the year it gets quite cold at night. The cabins are not insulated and not...

This was the best accommodation we had in YSNP during our recent stay. We were lucky enough to get a frontier cabin with private bathroom. We stay during the first night of the season. Even though it was built in 1920, the quality of the building and finishes are much superior to the other younger constructions in the park... They...

Roosevelt Lodge is a place for families who do not want to deal with camping in a campground. The adjoining Roughrider cabins were occupied by 3 generations of one family. We found our cabin to be cute, but a bit small so we rearranged the furniture to better suit our needs. The parking between the cabins is a bit of a...
