We've been to Slough Creek before, and it was probably our most rewarding wildlife spotting in the park. Unfortunately, this time it was closed due to the proximity of the Buffalo wildfire. Going to the gate before dawn was an unnerving experience. You can best see the fires in the dark, and they were all too close. I realize the...

The best place to see wolves in Yellowstone. Just stop by the campground and ask to see the wolves. Make sure to ask the campground host, she is great and very helpful. We saw at least ten wolves and the pups were playing all over the hillside. We visited summer 2016.

Being lucky to get a place, we spend two nights at the camp ground. The ranger was really nice, after arriving so early (5 am!) she left us a reservation note as it was not yet clear whether there is a space. The wolves are just near by, a whole group of "wolvers" and rangers are spotting them with gigantic...

Slough creek was a 3 night stop off for us on a 3000 mile road trip around middle America. It was so beautiful and peaceful there. Some nice hikes nearby. Dave the camp ranger made our stay. He showed us hikes and drank tea in the mornings with us. Our trip was 2013 but it wont let me backdate that...

We have been to Slough Creek campground probably 3-4 times. Our favorite spot is site #24 it is secluded and surrounded by trees. You will see many deer roaming the campground at all hours. The creek is an added bonus to help you sleep after a long day of hiking.

This campground is a little north and east of all of the sites, but this is a fantastic spot that is off the main Yellowstone roads. Most camp spots have plenty of shade. Makes for an amazing Yellowstone experience. Don't be surprised if bison jump out in front of your car in this area. You'll be in the heart of...

A friend and I decided to camp at Slough Creek on a recent trip to Yellowstone. I was skeptical that we would secure a site but we arrived to the campground around 7am on a Friday during peak season and there were two sites available! We settled on site 8 on the in-field. The major downside to this site was...

I think our family will always remember our stay at this special campground. The campsites are all beautiful and right along a burbling creek. We got to fall asleep to and wake up to that sound every day. Our goal for our Yellowstone trip was to see wildlife, and this campground delivered. We saw deer, a mother bear with two...

We had never camped before and we took a chance on slough creek as we wanted to be near the wildlife. We had the BEST family holiday ever!! Our eight year old loved it more than Disneyland. We stayed at site #11 and loved how we backed onto the creek. It was so peaceful and quiet. The vault toilets were...

I had heard from former reviews to get to this campground early, but when i talked to a ranger the day before we were to head there, he said it wasn't full until 1pm the day before. I guess that must have been when the campground host reported, because we showed up at 10 am the next day and it...
