Very Pricey but nice old hotel. Limited infrastructure - no Wifi and no cell phone access at all - but that's good like it is. This hotel is to relax - enjoy the environment and the nature.

Just sitting in the dining area is worth the cost of a lunch.
Food was well seasoned and done perfectly except for the French fries. We got the vegetarian dishes and chicken sandwiches.
Rooms and bedding were great! View out the window of our room you could see a clear shot of Yosemite Falls. Location is perfect and from what I could see of some of the other places to stay in the valley, it was much nicer...More

You don't necessarily have to book your stay so far in advance, but I am sure it would help. We stayed at the Majestic for 2 nights last week. I made the reservation approximately 1 month prior using the web site. August is the busiest time at the park so initially there was no availability at the Majestic for the nights we wanted, but I visited the web site every day for 5 or 6 days to check availability and sure enough I was eventually able to see the nights we wanted had opened up and I secured a reservation. You need to be persistent and keep going back because they do get cancellations regularly. And yes, they only update the web site reservation data once a day after midnight Pacific time, so if you visit the site early in the morning each day, you can see what has opened up.

Good morning QueenieSm,
We are excited that you will visiting us next year. Our hotel rooms, cottages, dining room, and bar are all air conditioned. Yosemite Falls is a snow melt fed waterfall so it all depends on what kind of winter we have had. This past winter was an above average one so the falls are still running now. I have also seen them dry this time of year. We will keep our fingers crossed for a good winter this year in hopes of you seeing the falls in September of next year.
Our cottages are located on the grounds, can be a little larger than the hotel rooms, and some feel more private. The hotel rooms will afford the iconic views of Yosemite (Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, Glacier Point). However, both have the same amenities.
We look forward to seeing you in 2018.
All the best,
Brett Archer, General Manager
