If Yosemite Nat'l Park & wildlife are the soul of Big Trees Lodge/Wawona, Tom Bopp the piano player/singer is the heart of the place. Make sure he's performing on the nights you stay there. We stayed in & ate dinner at the hotel just so we wouldn't miss him playing! He's a delight & great fun to sing along with...

This was the only hotel in Yosemite that had space when we went in the summer of 2015 and I'm glad we stayed there. It's now called the Big Trees Lodge. It's not in the Yosemite valley which means it's quieter and more peaceful. I don't know how it may have changed since the name change, but our room was...

Quiet, no electronics or phone. Wi-Fi available in the sun room. Loved it, will definitely stay again if we return. Do the ranger fireside talk at the campground and the horseback riding. The whole family had a great time.

What a beautiful lodge. Our room (and shared bathrooms) were consistently clean, comfortable, and convenient, and the front desk was always friendly and helpful. We strolled the grounds including a wonderful historic “town”. An excellent place to stay. Thank you!

We had a very enjoyable stay here in one of the upper rooms in the main building with a veranda out front. Sharing a bathroom down the hall was no problem for us at all and it was all very clean and tidy. We had a really nice dinner downstairs and the highlight was the time we spent in the...

This hotel preserves an early 20th century feeling. It may not have all modern amenities (WiFi, en suite bathroom, ...). It breathes past grandeur, in setting, piano bar, ... Incomparable, number one atmosphere stay choice in the park.

Stayed here for 2 nights and really liked the location in the wawona grove. The only issue with the location is the difficulty of accessibility from the Yosemite Valley for a non-driver like me. The property is classy and sophisticated, housing a very nice (and expensive) Italian restaurant. The rooms are small and clean. It has a big lawn and...

If you want all of the mod cons then this is not for you. We opted for a room with a bathroom which we found suited out needs. No tv or Wi-Fi but you could get Wi-Fi in the sun room - if you wanted to spend time looking at a screen instead of the lovely surroundings. It is a...

It's good to know what you're getting with this hotel. If it wasn't at Yosemite, I'd probably choose not to stay there. But if you are the type who appreciates history and can take the time to kick back and enjoy the atmosphere--you just might love it. The rooms are plain, not air-conditioned, and a little noisy. But the place...

Excellent place. Quite away from bustle of Yosemite village area. 45 minutes spectacular drive in fact. Peaceful beautiful tranquil. Lovely helpful staff. Good restaurant and singing Waltzing Matilda with a group around the piano was a treat for a solo Aussie. Room on front verandah with fountain in front was beautiful. Not having an en suite made the run around...
