It's a traditional and excellent tented safari experience - warm water bottles in the beds, hot showers, skilled guides and drivers, and surprisingly good food. But what sets it apart are the group dinners and campfires which let you make new friends, and the warms and affability of the staff who are always keen to engage you in conversation. I'm...

My husband and I planned a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Africa, but it has been so fabulous that we hope to return with family and friends. Friends recommended Gamewatchers Safaris because they operate first-class full-service safaris at a reasonable cost. Gamewatchers operates Porini (“in the wild” in Swahili) Camps where we stayed for eight nights. The Gamewatchers safari experience is superb...

The camp itself is well off the beaten track and self driving yourself it was a little difficult to find, although the directions were precise a couple of signs to say Porini Rhino camp would have been better, especially on the 'no through road' we did make a couple of errors there. On arriving we were met by David and his crew...

My extended family of ten, ranging from ages 6 to 70, visited four Porini Camps: Amboseli, Rhino, Mara, and Lion. Every aspect of Porini - the cultural experience, game drives/wildlife, accommodations, service, food - was stellar, and I'm convinced is totally unique from any other safari experience. Porini's model is rooted in environmental and social responsibility and partnerships with local...

I have just returned from a fabulous week in Kenya visiting both Porini Rhino camp and Porini Mara Camp. I had visited both these camps several years ago and I had wondered if they would live up to my very good memories of them. I was not disappointed! The tent itself ('room' 4) was very clean, comfortable and spacious. It...

Greetings, Started our honeymoom there and I do not know how we ended up as the only guests during our stay but we had no complaints whatsoever - we had the entire place to ourselves. We were treated as royalty :-) with all attention given to us. Everything was as advertised and as a follow up from NTC, we really...

Stayed last June. This camp is fantastic in every way. Food, tents, cleanliness, and most of all, staff, headed by David, who runs a warm, wonderful, but tight ship. I stayed at another Porini camp and while it was great too, it lacked the feel of hands-on absolutely highest standards supervision that is evident at Rhino Camp. I can't add...

Wonderful service! David the camp manager was especially gracious! We loved our evening chats over the campfire. We had a fantastic time at the Rhino camp and really enjoyed getting to experience the conservancy without seeing lots of other vehicles. We has multiple sittings of white rhinos, elephants, and lots of buffalo but the highlight was the wild dogs at...

We made our first trip to Porini Rhino Camp in September 2013. We loved it so much that we returned in February 2015 and were not disappointed in our decision. Not only did we have multiple rhino sightings but we were also able to spend time with cheetahs, lions and a beautiful leopard (photo attached). Our guides, Benjamin and Daniel,...
