We arrived on a cold &a wet Friday evening to be met by a very warm & friendly meeting with Caroline & Jeffery who showed us into a reception room with a log fire & offered us tea & freshly baked home made bread. Our hosts made us feel very welcomed from the beginning, & we had a very pleasant...

Normally on business travel, I can usually be found inhabiting the usual chains of hotels, offering the not-much different-to-anyone-else style of box-room, containing the usual sachets of coffee, sugar, the occasional tea bag and horrible little tubs of some insipid, white liquid normally described as UHT Milk - that really cannot have any association with a cow at all! No...

Our room in this very handsome house was very comfortable, dinner was delicious, all organic ingredients and much home-produce, and so was breakfast. The owners, Jeffrey and Caroline, were most hospitable and entertaining.

We've just spent a very enjoyable weekend in Suffolk meeting friends at Haughley House. Our room was warm and comfortable with everything we needed. We were greeted with tea and cake and there were some lovely home made biscuits in our room. We chose to eat in and the dinner was delicious from the canapés to the pudding which is...

We had a wonderful time in Haughley House. It is not a small hotel but a real B&B in the best sense. Jeffrey and Caroline had been very pleasant and attentive (nevertheless decent) to make our stay as comfortable as possible. And on top they serve the best sausage for breakfast I ever had in UK (and we have been...

My husband and I had a very relaxing two day break at Haughley House. The house was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, steeped in history, my favourite room was the sitting room overlooking the garden watching the birds it was bliss! We had afternoon tea in this room when we arrived and then drinks before dinner. We chose to have...

Thank you so much for your glowing review which is greatly appreciated. We particularly appreciated the comment regarding cleanliness, as it is especially difficult, with an ancient timber frame house, to keep the cobwebs at bay! We have hopefully eradicated the death watch beetle and woodworm, which tend to make piles of dust, although Jeffrey does crawl around once a...

I stayed there for two nights September 2016 for a business trip. As people have said, this is an old house - not a modern hotel. The floors creak, the clocks chime - the place has character! People have mentioned the small bathrooms - yes mine was small but I wasn't planning on a baseball game in there! It was...

My wife and I enjoyed our stay with our hosts Jeffrey and Caroline Bowden in their beautiful old Manor House in the village of Haughley in Suffolk. On arrival we were made very welcome and given homemade cake and a pot of Tea served in their large garden area. We chose to stay on a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast for...
