We stayed at the holiday park for two nights in one of their newer, luxury motel rooms facing a grassy area and a small view of the lake. The motel room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and included a small kitchenette area where we prepared our breakfasts and lunches for our hiking adventures, a nice bed, sitting area, chairs, and...

Thanks for your comments. We are a large park, catering for very diverse requirements, not just 1 or 2 nights stays. The "hundreds of trailers" referred to are all used at various times, not stored here. At our peak times we will cater for around 2000 to 2500 people. We are sorry there was an issue with the clothes dryer...

Lake Ruatinawha Holiday Park – Motel section We’re a couple 61/60 and stayed 3 nights in Feb – deliberately choosing Twizel as our base (despite some people seriously wondering why we’d want to stay there during our first time visit to NZ). But for us it proved to be a great starting location from which we spent one full-day at...

for a site without free wifi and littered with cigarette butts. I mean, everything is under control, patrons are obsessed with keeping the dogs on lead the bins are labelled for plastic, glass, etc. all this is perfect but how come tobacco, and associated littering is not taken in account?

Hi For your information we are at the lower end of the scale as far as camping (power and non-power) fees are concerned. Following your comment, a staff member went around the entire 50 acre park, and picked up 200 cigarette butts and 26 bottle tops. Of the butts, 33 were in one pile where someone had emptied an ashtray....

If you have your own caravan, motorhome or tent, and especially if you have kids and a boat, the campsite is probably OK and the location is good for exploring the area. But our "Tourist"cabin was awful and we walked out after two of our four booked nights. The first problem was that the cabin depicted as a "Standard" cabin...

We stayed here for 5 nights and had a great time. Our children played at the "Kiwi As" playground most of the time. Toilets were clean and the shower pressure was amazing, and that matters when you're camping. There is a shop on site, which has everything you need in it. There was even a guy selling coffee out of...

Great place to camp. Family and dog friendly with lots to do with the kids. Play ground and bouncy castles. Close to the lake with options to hire boats, canoes, stand up boards or bring your own, also great for swimming, even for small children. Fishing, walking tracks and cycling tracks.Great to rest if cycling A2O with motels and cabins....

Lovely clean camping ground with excellent showers & facilities. Only a 5 minute walk to Lake Ruataniwha & a five minute drive into Twizel. Great fishing in both the lake & canals. Plenty of powered sites as well as non powered sites for tents

We had a wonderful one night stay and wish we could have stayed longer. We had a studio motel room that was quite luxurious! We loved the out of town location that was close to the lake and was surrounded by trees and birds. They have fun playground for kids, too. Thanks to Peter, Finn and the other owners who...

Great place have been coming here for years and never get sick of it, tony and the crew are great and they are consistently upgrading the park which is great, the location is great, literally right beside the lake and out of the sometimes busy town of twizel at this time of the year.
