Bedroom was not great for deluxe, a missing lamp shade and the hot water was a trickle, so Luke warm shower. Breakfast hot food soon became Luke warm as there were no covers only heat lamps. So OK for a one night stop but you could find better. Mt. Cook hotels/ Villas etc looked better especially the views.

I was not in a group so I has a warm welcome. Room was large with two king beds. Even with all the people staying, the room was quiet. I had wifi in my room but it was very slow with a download limit that can be easily met thus occurring additional wifi charges. Overpriced except it is a prime...

A nice hotel at a quite location just outside Twizel, where we stayed overnight travelling in a group. Room was spacious, with a good view. Wi-Fi is free only in the lobby, which is a nice place to spend some time in the evening. Buffet breakfast arranged for our group was basic. A good hotel for overnight stay….

We have stayed at a lot of hotels travelling round New Zealand - some very swish and some more basic. We have generally found the less luxurious to offer the warmest welcomes and friendliest service - and little extras like a bar of chocolate on arrival, a cook drink or sweeties on departure. Every hotel has had the keys ready...

The hotel is spread out in a few wings around the central area which houses reception, the bar and restaurant . Our room was upstairs and had a ceiling to wall window which led on to a balcony and over looked a grassy area with small bungalow accommodation at the other side . Room was huge and well decorated ,...

A very good sized room in a beautiful setting looking out over gardens to the mountains. Buffet breakfast was excellent with a wide choice. Unfortunately there was a very loud continuous buzzing noise in our bedroom Full marks to the duty manager who tried her best to sort out the problem, which was the sound of a downstairs bathroom fan...

This is a fine quick stay place...the staff is friendly and quite efficient. Breakfast was ok but as a gluten free person there were few options, also all the fruit was canned. Convenient to Mt Cook and the cafe opposite it was fabulous! For the $ it was fine

I remember that the place we stayed was named Mackenzie country hotel. The drive from Oamaru along the Waitaki river was beautiful. We saw some horses in the wild and crossed lake Benmore on the way. There is not much near the hotel. It is a good place to start your Mount Cook journey as the hotels at the Mount...
