Husband booked us into this complex and I was pleasantly surprised. Studio unit only $110 per night and was self contained. Comfortable bed and bathroom modern. Reception was great and staff friendly. Shops close by. 1 hour drive to Mt Cook townsite which was a lovely drive with many places to pull over to take photos.

The chalet we had was set up to sleep 5-7 people. Some basics were missing : a coffee table in the lounge, a shelf in the shower to put your soaps & shampoos on, a bathroom heater, herbal teas, restaurant menus in the compendium - basics!! The bathroom linens were old and tatty around the edges and the floors felt...

My husband & I booked a chalet for 1 night & stayed here after a day trip to Mt Cook. Indeed a good alternative to Mt Cook village. Bed was comfy, t&b functional, kitchen was well stocked with equipment. We loved the style but feels a bit dated. We got the bigger chalet because the smaller ones were fully booked,...

Great, comfortable, value for money, everything you need for overnight .clean, plenty of room. Would use again, but ask for one with at least a view, even if it's only of a paddock. Not view of back of 2 other chalets.

We stayed in Twizel in February 2015 at the mountain Chalet Motel. This was a comfortable clean and pretty little cabin that was perfect for our needs. Comfortable beds, a small kitchenette that had the essentials, free wifi, and peace and quiet! The hosts were friendly and helpful. Short walk to village centre, shops, reataurants. Loved it, and will be...

A perfectly good NZ motel, which is pretty good indeed by worldwide standards. All facilities and rooms well designed (as usual). No glitz, but who needs that. Had no problem with wifi although tends to be overloaded in the evening (pretty common). Good bandwidth in the morning. Needed and extension lead and two way adapter for many things to charge...

Stayed here for one night after a visit to Mount Cook. The chalet was clean and perfectly adequate for a one night stay. Wi-fi did not reach our chalet but I stood in the laundry when I wanted to use it. Bed was comfortable and area very quiet.

This was an OK place to stay for a night passing through, but you wouldn't want to spend a lot of time here. The inside of the chalet is fine, and it's good to be able to separate off the kitchen from the bedroom. But the external appearance of the site is not attractive - broken bench outside the chalet...

We stayed here as a base for visiting Aoraki (Mt Cook) and were very pleased. It is a bit of a drive to Mt Cook but Twizel is a nice little town with some decent eating out options and a good supermarket. Mountain Chalet Motels itself was a hit with the kids, they loved being away from the grown-ups upstairs...

We stayed here for two nights on our way to Te Anau from Christchurch. Our A frame chalet was comfortable and spacious. As tends to be the case with the NZ motels I've stayed at, there was a decided lack of closet and drawer space downstairs, but plenty more was available in the loft. The shower was adequate, but care...
