The owner, of Japanese origin, is very friendly and helpful. the place is quiet, the rooms are absolutely ok, and there is a library in the first floor, where you can stay, or go out to the balcony and enjoy the wonderful view. I can highly recommend this place, if you want to enjoy a japanes breakfast, you will get...

My husband and I stayed at lake wanaka lodge for 1 night only on our trip around NZ. Lots of people say I'm not one to complain and then go ahead and complain about everything but we just felt it would be useful for people to read our experience of the lodge to help decide if you would stay. We...

We recently stayed at the Lodge whilst traveling around NZ and I'm sorry to say that this is the worst place we have stayed in so far was just glad we only stayed for 1 night. It was extremely hard to find when booking you should really send out a map so you no exactly where your going, thank god...

We had the most wonderful stay! The accommodation was nothing flashy but had the most comfortable bed and pillows, was immaculately clean and the service was friendly. Perfect location less than 10 minutes’ walk from town. Even has a spa to soak in (next time I’ll remember my togs!). Overall we loved this place and will definitely be staying again...

We stayed at Wanaka Lodge in a group of six in mid-August. Pros: - Clean, spacious rooms and bathrooms - Good wifi - nice lounge room - Very reasonable prices - great hot tub to chill in after a long day of skiing - reasonable walking distance from Wanaka city

This lodge was difficult to find, had dated fittings (had to remember how to work the old school shower!) and a very poor wifi connection. It was a pleasant location back from the town but still not far from all the action.

This was more of a small hotel rather than the motels we stayed at during our NZ holiday. I should have researched its facilities beforehand, so can't criticize it for not having kitchen facilities (except a fridge), but every other place we stayed did have, so beware. The room was quite small and very hot - no aircon. There is...

Lovely little place on a hill overlooking the lake. Run by Japanese so very nice and clean and with attention to detail. It was a tad hard to find as the street has two parts - do not give up Wifi was a bit funny - yo had to keep signing up to it but otherwise the stay was ok

I made a mistake in believing this was a Motel it is not. There are no cooking facilities in the room and parking space is tight. That said the room was good, if a little small with a comfortable bed. The night we stayed followed a 30 degree plus day and the room had no air conditioning and no fan.

This is a very nice place....it's not the Ritz so don't expect that. But do expect a warm, friendly welcome and fantastic service; a high degree of cleanliness, comfortable beds and a delicious Japanese breakfast if you opt for that (do try it - I think it will impress...). And value for money - hard to beat!! We'd stay here...
