The hotel itself is lovely and very nicely decorated but the highlight is the sitting quietly and watching the animals come to the waterhole that the hotel is overlooking. It is a fantastic sight. Once you settle down it is quite difficult to just get up and leave because watching the animals in their natural habitat is just mesmerizing. We...

- Amidst the jungle - Next to salt lick and waterbody where we spotted elephants, cape buffaloes, warthogs, hyenas (rare sight but lucky to spot couple of them) and few bird species - Jungle log house experience - Rooms bit smaller but clean - Viewing areas on ground level (strong glass protection; feels amazing to be just 10 feet away...

We booked 2 rooms for ourselves and 2 children. The rooms are not interconnecting and only lock from the inside so we had to split up and spend the night one with each child in separate rooms, though we were next to each other. Lunch is served at Aberdare Country Club which we'd visited for Sunday lunch a few weeks...

The Ark is a lodge that is built next to a man-made pond and salt lick that has become a watering hole for a variety of the animals in the Aberdares mountain range. The rooms are very basic and small but you will be spending most of your time on the decks and at the windows watching the animals. There...

This Lodge is very atmospheric but really needs maintenance. As one would expect the rooms & bathrooms are very small, to be expected as there are limited rooms offered in the park, however the bathrooms especially need some maintenance . Like the other reviewer we did not like the idea of no room security which meant all valuable needed to...

The views of the animals around the waterhole from the glass windows is just amazing. I guess that's what we came for. The room was disappointing. We were lucky in that we had a larger room on level "C". First time we have ever stayed in a place where there is NO security for the room. No safe and no...

This place was definitely the highlight of my trip to Kenya. You get dropped off at Aberdare Country Club, get served a very good lunch, and then are taken to the Ark. The ride to the Ark could either be the 30 minute bus ride or you could opt for the paid $45/person safari drive through the Aberdare jungle that...

From the Aberdare country club, we travelled to the ark, passing a great view of Tree Tops, Elephants, Buffalo, Warthogs and many other birds and animals. Once we arrived at the Ark we were briefed about the viewing points near the watering hole consisting of a top floor balcony which is open to the elements with fabulous views, a second floor...
