Flea-bitten animals turned into flea-bitten me. Basic, rough accommodation isolated on the beach. Didn't help I arrived to a power cut so no light and no fan in the heat. OK if you want to be totally isolated.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is a very tranquil part of the island. You can relax on the beach drinking coconut milk and be bothered by hagglers far less frequently than elsewhere on Zanzibar.

please will someone offer a little more information about the location of Pakacha Bungalows. Are they situated in a very remote location or are there one or two other bars and restaurants nearby? Can they arrange scooter hire or motorcycle hire? Are there one or two other places of interest nearby? Is it a beach only type resort or something with more to offer?

Pakacha Bungalows is based right on the beachfront in Bwejuu village on the south east coast of Zanzibar. Bwejuu is a quiet village and has a number of boutique resorts and locally run guesthouses with restaurants, bars, swimming pools etc along the beach, as well as local convienience stores, a medical clinic and schools. The larger town of Paje is 3kms south and has a supermarket with credit card facilities, and is the kitesurfing hub of Zanzibar.
Nearby activities include snorkelling, fishing, kitesurfing, surfing, paddleboarding, Jozani National Park tours, Stonetown, Prison Island and Spice tours, swimming with dolphins and much more. Bicycles and motorbikes are available for rent from Pakacha.
Pakacha Bungalows is a locally owned and operated business and the very welcoming staff will make you feel at home, and are happy to help make your stay comfortable and relaxing.
