Stayed here 2 years ago when Mario was the manager of the hotel. The hotel felt flat without his vibrant personality. Only salads are now offered for evening meals, with reduced options for breakfast. Previously we enjoined returning to the courtyard in the evening for a glass of wine, with Mario asking what we had done during the day and... More

We travelled for 6 weeks in France and Le Fauvelle was the worst place and the most expensive. When reading their website they mention that they have soul, well there is no soul at Le Fauvelle. Our room was fine with a spacious shower and loo. The noise from the passage outside all the rooms is a problem. We stayed... More

We came across this charming hotel by chance. Mario and his team compliment the pleasing surroundings and offer an unbridled level of customer service. This relaxed style enhanced our French vacation and made for a memorable stay. We have been singing La Fauvelle's praises on our return and we plan to revisit next year with a larger group of friends.

It's a beautiful clean place in a very convenient location. Very relaxing garden / pool area, nicely restored old building, flowers everywhere... The only downside is soundproofing the rooms, as you could hear doors being shut at night, etc. The good thing is that the place lends itself to being more tranquil, so residents naturally slow down and take it... La Fauvelle is the perfect place to relax and indulge in the beautiful village of Thuir. We enjoyed the stunning pool, the privacy, the friendly host Mario is always available for a talk. The setting is charming and romantic. The breakfast features local delicious food including fresh fruits, freshly baked croissants and many more. We will be back!

The village Thuir is lovely and many nice villages to visit closeby. The hotel is very nice - very clean, lovely dining area outside and friendly service. The owner is very helpful and possibly too talkative :) and he is fussy where you picnic in his hotel! Fortunately there is a nice table near the pool which is suitable for... More

We spent 4 glorious days with La Fauvelle as our home base. Our host, Mario, was the best first impression of any place we have been. Clean rooms with a private bath. Wonderful food and wine. We look forward to returning for another visit.

La Fauvelle with its extensive informal grounds has a restful country feeling but it's only 10 minutes walk from the busy little town of Thuir where there are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. La Fauvelle's rooms with their walk in closets, good bathrooms and French windows into the garden are perfect. The secluded swimming pool, surrounded by grass and... More

“If you eat dinner in Thuir, ask Mario for suggestions and booking of a reservation. The restaurants are small, so you will need to give them advance notice of your coming. Also, the thin almond cookies at Florent bakery in Thuir (centre ville) are not to be missed!”
