Superb stay in this beautiful abbey. Really nice romantic French garden with an organic vege farm. The former crypt now is a wine cellars. The rooms are spacious and authentically antique but well kept. The abbey your & wine tasting is also great. Food serve in the resident restaurant are also good.

It was great to return after so long and the food and service were still excellent. The Chianti Classico was a perfect choice. The beef cheek melted in the mouth and the duck was perfect. Great views and well worth the 2 hour drive!

A magnificent property perched on a hill overlooking valleys in Chianti region. Marvelous restaurant and comfortable rooms in an 11th c monastery. About an hour from Sienna. It is only open for about six months a year; pool was closed in October as days were already cooler. Warm rooms in the quietest hotel I have ever experienced.

We stayed with frientds for a long week end and it was like a trip in the past: a convent converted into a luxurious palace, century old cellars and a kitchen with the most exquisite Italian foods. Kitchen course highly recommended

This old monastry is situated in the Heart of the Chianty district with commanding views over a beautiful landscape. The historic Building and the rooms are filled with atmosphere as is the beautifully maintained renaissance garden. A quiet retreat near Siena, Florence and many medieval villages and hamlets. A place you would want to return to !

A delightful stay in this thousand year old abbey. The attention of the staff was exceptional and the room was comfortable and steeped in history. The bed was somewhat firm for our tastes, however the surroundings and privilege of staying in such a magnificent historic badia made this a small matter. Great pool hidden in the lower part of the... More

We have visited this place several times and discovers something new every time and have never has s bad experience there😊 Badia a Coltibuono has their own wines, and the 100 % sangiovese is a Super-Toscany (IgT). The restaurant offers probably the best food in the area.

This review is for the hotel. We did not do the wine tour (surprisingly!), and my review of the restaurant can be read in the relevant Tripadvisor page. Once through the door of the monastery, which brings you onto an old and charming courtyard, the silence takes hold of you; we slept like babies. The reception (area) is basic, but... More

One hour, 10 euros, we had 3 glasses of wine, by request. The tour of the property was fascinating and very informative. Very friendly family member giving the tour and asking all of our questions. Small group. Wait outside the gate -- it will seem no one is there but promptly on the assigned hour, the gate is opened and... More
