We arrive to the restaurant a little bit before our reservation was made. We've been offered and aperitif that we say yes, a champagne glass. After we got our champagne glasses we got 3 beautiful snacks; smoked quail egg, fried cod skin with an oyster mayonnaise and cured cod ( an explosion of flavor) and beetroot with blue cheese (Kraftkar...

Engø gård is probably not best experienced in the cold darkness of December, but the experience left us longing to come back during the summer months. The tennis courts lay barren, the sea is a cold and grey mirage in the distance and the sun is barely out during the hours we spend at Engø. Still, the hospitality, food and...

A very good and very clean hotell. The food are excellent and the service are better than before. On prior visits we had to wait for the food too long. However the have to do something with the seating in the restaurant that was bad. We stayed two days and got the same bad table that is not good enough.

This is a place to visit for special occasions, or if you just want an amazing cuisine in nice and quiet surroundings wit someone you care about. The food is always great, and the packages with wine and 3/5/7 courses is highly recommendable. We had 7 courses, and everything was great, including the service. The resort offers "Engø Døgn" with...

We came with our colleagues for an Engø-stay. Arriving for Afternoon tea in pleasant surroundings before checking into clean and pleasant rooms. The Afternoon tea was classical with salmon sandwich, scones, biscuits and small sweets and cakes. Delicious with Rosé wine. We went for a walk in the nearby seascape of Verdens Ende in the late afternoon to build up...

Went here for a family anniversary. We enjoyed a five course meal with a wine package. Amazing food with first class service. The main course was veal which was absolutely top notch. With beautiful surroundings this a place definitely worth visiting.

This summer paradise is also a very nice place to be even if it is -15C. We came here for a winemakers dinner at Friday and wanted to stay all week end.We do not regret it. The service was like at a gourmet restaurant. The buildings and the room was excellent. Bathhouse with sauna, yakuzzi and pool was an experience....

Engø is like coming to family living in an English mansion. It is warm, personal, with an attention to every detail rarely seen. The best part: the food. The danish chef Ulrik has the rare combination of being friendly, social- and world class. His dishes have high international class. It is a mistery why this place does not have Michelin...

Amazing food (time and time again). The best of norwegian produce, perfectly prepared. A place to come back to for an ever changing set menu. Stay over night and have a fresh farm breakfast to finish of an excellent dining experience (great weekend outing, just an hour south of Oslo)

“I slept in the former stable, - the rooms were recently redecorated and comfortable.”

“I believe that there is a great deal of variabilty in the design/features of the various rooms which are in several different buildings, so would be good to inquire about the partcular room assigned. Stayed in the 'stables' building, which offered very modern rooms, but mine had a shower only, so if needing a bathtub, you should ask for a room that has that.”
