We stayed 2 nights at Quinta Lograssol, out of season. The village itself does not have anything special and is a little remote. First impressions were mixed, as upon arrival the owners were not there and the place seemed closed and refurbishment going on. The room and bathroom were big enough, but very dark. Mirror in bathroom so low that it was not convenient to do a proper make-up, put contact lenses in etc...... No mirror at all in the bedroom. Bed was big and very good. All in good order and clean. Common sitting / dining room with kitchenette, small fridge with beverages but no wine. Breakfast served in main house in very nice dining room with view on the garden. Very large choice of fruits, bread, cheeses, ham, cakes and jams set on beautiful table linen. Hosts and staff were kind and advised very good restaurant for diner in Mealhada.…
We had 3 very nice days in this immaculate quinta in may 2015. The hosts are very welcoming and helpfull. Very rich breakfast, very clean en in a calm environment. The host will recommens You the best place in Mealhada to eat roasted pig.Do not miss out on this!!!
We loved this place and wish we could have stayed longer. This B&B is in a remote location near Mealhada, a bit difficult to find. We had to ring the bell and were greeted by Carla who showed us our parking spot inside the gated property, and our room which was spacious and comfortable with a view over the garden and pool area. The bathroom is modern with a nice shower. The property is extremely well kept and clean, with beautiful antique furniture and a sitting room and kitchen/dining room with dishes, glasses, cutlery for guests to use. There is no restaurant nearby, so we opted to pick up dinner from Rei dos Leitoes, complete with wine, and had a private dinner in the guest dining room. Cristina, the charming owner, even brought us a nice tablecloth. Breakfast was delicious with freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, different meats and cheeses, eggs of your choice, cake and good coffee. Thank you Cristina and Carla for a wonderful stay. We hope to return in the future.…
We spent three nights in this lovely B&B, using it as a base for day trips to Porto ( about an hour), Coimbra (about half an hour) and other nearby sights. The hosts were welcoming and gracious, offering us local wines as we sat by the pool and driving us to a wonderful hard to find restaurant. The breakfasts were beautiful and delicious. And the garden behind the wall was a great place to return to after exploring Roman ruins or hiking in the park at Bussaco. When we were there, the rooms were a bit damp, and they really do need smaller doorknobs, but these were minor inconveniences in the very enjoyable days we spent at the end of our Portugal tour.
We stayed 6 nights, aiming for a mix of relaxation and interesting day trips, and found this was the perfect place. The quinta is quite suitable to stay 'in' and relax - whether in the pool area/garden or sitting in the comfy chairs on the spacious veranda. Most afternoons our host would offer a glass of wine and a friendly chat. There is a common area where you can make nespresso coffee or get a cold drink (or keep or prepare your own food), free of charge. Breakfast is excellent, including fresh orange juice, eggs to order, and home made jams. Rooms are fine, nothing fancy but spotless, with comfortable beds and a good spacious shower. Quinta de Lograssol is also a good base for a variety of trips to Coimbra, Conimbriga, Bucaco, Viseu, Aveiro and Serra da Estrela. Mealhada doesn't have a lot to offer but nearby Luso is nice (including restaurant Pedra de Sal). Very much recommended, and thank you Cristina, Pedro and Carla for a perfect stay. …
