This review is long overdue! I actually visited in April of 2018 with my friend Jenna. Our wine tour guide set us up for a lunch date and winery tour with the wine maker. She was extremely warm, welcoming and made our short stay at the Quinta a very memorable experience. The grounds are beautiful and quaint and I would love to visit again and again stay in one of their adorable private rooms! The wine tasting was fantastic and I highly recommend visiting this area and Quinta if you are near Porto or the Douro Valley. Thank you for your hospitality! -Mandie Page
It is the first time I have visited a vine yard. We and our family had an exceptional time at Joana's place. She took great care in explaining details of the wine making process from the growing of grapes to machinery for grape processing to bottling. We also tasted different wines and cheeses and breads. Joana had suggested sandwiches too but we are vegetarian and hence she offered vegetarian options. I would strongly recommend this wine tasting tour if you are in vicinity of Porto.
We stayed here for only two nights but upon arrival regretted not booking for more nights. This is the ideal getaway when you like beautiful scenery, wine and complete and friendly service. It's a beautiful wine estate and has clean and spacious rooms for a decent price. Swimming in the pool in august is magical with a great view of the surroundings. Most importantly: the service is outstanding. Joana and her crew go above and beyond to make you relax to the fullest.
We stayed at Quinta de Lourosa for 3 nights, this June. This was our first time out of home with our baby daughter, aged 9 months, and we were upgraded to the apartment, free of charge, to stay more comfortable with her. The facilities are very clean, the place is beautiful, with a pool by the vineyards that must be awesome to be at, in the summer. Above all, the friendliness of the owners makes us feel at home. An experience to repeat!
This quinta is just remarkable! We stayed for 2 weeks and never felt more welcome than during this holiday. Staying at quinta de lourosa is like staying with friends. It's a quite place, yet close to the highway. So in about 30 minutes you can reach tourist hotspots such as Porto, Braga, the porto route, the beach or Guimaraes. But it is just as fun to stay in the quinta for the whole day and taste their delicious wines while you enjoy the pool. The owners are very passionate about wine and can tell you all you need to know. The rooms are great and clean and the breakfast is fresh and tasty. Pets are also welcome.
