It is a long way to Maria la Gorda, the street quality differs, 70% good street, 30% street with holes, difficult to see between thetrees on both sides. The beach is mostly rocky but you can find places with sand to take a bath. The beach them self is covered with fine sand and partially located under palm trees. Beautful...

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our tour with g adventures. We stayed in some bunglow style huts but we had one common wall and it was paper thin. We could hear the 2 girls next door to us as if they were inside our room. Also, there was no hot water on both nights. There was...

I have read many negative reviews about this place obviously dating before the renovation. At present, the whole place is like new with clean rooms, a decent restaurant and a friendly bar. The beach is beautiful with plenty of rest chairs and a lot of shadow. One minor point: they should feed their cats. During our dinner at the restaurant,...

The scuba diving is great, awesome, incredible! The location is nice as well, picture book beach with palm trees, blue sea, nice sunsets. However, the food is so poor that it destroyed the entire trip for me. I could only dive one out of three planned days, the rest of the time I was with stomach pain and its side...

The diving is amazing...maybe the more pristine reefs of the caribbean. The hotel rooms had been renovated. Food is good,,,only good. The 2 issues are: 1- Mosquitos!! A lot!!!!! 2- If you are not a diver, you must became one...nothing else to do. (But the diving is world class !!! )

Maria La Gorda is a resort, not a village. So do not look for Casa Particular. You either pay the high price of accommodation here or you can camp with your car next to the road to Maria La Gorda which goes along the shore and is a MUST SEE. No other option to stay over night. Huts are just...

Well, an average cuban hotel. Room and room cleaning was ok. The quality of the buffet restaurant is below average. The beach restaurant is nicer but doesn't have all the (not very much) items on the menu all the time. Who ever snorkeled in the red sea, should not expect anything comparable here. Some nice fishes but not very much...

The diving spot at Maria la Gorda is awesome, the boats avaible for diving are very good so as the diving staff and the equipment. The hotel not so good. We didn't have hot water in our room and the staff at the hotel weren't very concerned to fix this problem after many attemps from us. This property, like most...

“Don't take the cabins, older rooms. They are between some trees and it concentrates a lot of mosquitos as I heard from other guests.”

“The Hotel has different types of rooms, some are very close to the shore, with great location, but they are old and some of them show it, there are a group of wooden cabins, well equipped, and surrounded by lush nature at the beginning of the Hotel. They are a little isolated. and my favorites, a group of new rooms with higher standard and located at the center of the Hotel”
