We stayed 4 nights here. It's a wonderfull place to stay outside the center of town with direct access to the beach. As it's away from the town, you'll need a cart(taxi) if you want to eat outside. Lunch at the hotel is fine with...More

I usually hit up Tulum and all places riviera maya. I was skeptical, excited and curious when I got invited to a wedding at Villas Flamingo. In a nutshell, it far exceeded my expectations and I want to go back already!

This is a very pretty boutique hotel. The staff were super kind and always had a smile for you. The water is amazing and you can walk out into the ocean about a 100 yards with a frosty beverage in hand. The hammocks in the...More

In Isla Holbox many of the hotels do not have lounge chairs right on the beach as there is a road separating the hotels from the beach. But this hotel is at the end of the road and has loads of spots on the beach. Great food and the patio at night is the stuff of magazines. Enjoy! Holbox is very special place.

Yes, we did experience some mosquitoes. If I remember correctly the windows do have screens. We also love the sounds and feeling of windows open at night. We've only been to Holbox that one time, so I don't know what it would be like in February. But even with the mosquitoes, I definitely recommend going. Villas Flamingos and many local businesses provided free mosquito protection. The water was so warm, clear, and calm! And the village is full of beautiful, friendly people.
Sorry for the delayed response! I have been in Nicaragua, for the last week and a half. (Which I also highly recommend!) I hope this helps!
