Isla Holbox is changing, but we are thankful that the Hotel Amaite remains largely unchanged, and that is what makes it such a fabulous place to stay. My wife and I enjoyed 3 ½ relaxing weeks at the Hotel Amaite in February, our third year in a row with them. It was our longest and perhaps our most enjoyable stay....

The hotel is in a nice position; the beach is super close and the rooms are very basic but clean. Unfortunately, the hotel left unattended (with the exception of a useless security guard) from approx. 10pm until morning therefore if other guests are loud, drunk or both, good luck trying to call the reception for help. Additionally, the island is...

We absolutely loved our stay at Amaite. The location was perfect; literally steps away from "downtown" Holbox. Private beach access with the most lovely loungers and hammocks. Clean, quaint room looking right onto the ocean - this place is paradise! We loved the coffee and breakfast in the morning. Thank you to the amazing staff at Amaite, too!

Isla Holbox is a magical place. I fear that it could be ruined if too many people visit and the island loses its charm. Don't visit! You will either love Hotel Amaite or you will hate it. It is as close to the night action as possible and still be on the beach. It is very loud at night and...

We enjoyed the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere in Amaite. The hotel is right at the beach, and it's such a centered and easy place to find and access from every direction. Our room was clean, simple and cozy and because the hotel is situated right at the beach, it was nice to just relax in the beach chairs and hammocks....

A real beauty! Very nice beach. Free sun beds. Good rooms. We stayed at one of the first floor suites. Own pateo. Safety locker in the room. Two ACs and one fan. Free wifi. Only minor issues. breakfast good but too small Some might find the bar 100 meters away a bit disturbing. Didn't bother us though.

We booked this hotel because it had good reviews, reasonable prices and is on the beach. It delivered exactly what we expected. The room was actually larger than we expected, upstairs with a balcony looking out over the property and beach. Only room for improvement is more comfortable chairs on this balcony. The beds were quite firm, which was ok,...

We spent 8 nights at this hotel, we slept well and really enjoyed being right on the beach once we stepped out of our room. Free breakfast is kinda small but it does the job (barely two fruit portions per person, fruit water glass, coffee and two dry toasts with marmalade and unsalted butter). Expect to be hungry again after...

We stayed three nights and loved everything except the rude neighbor behind our hotel. He played very loud music until 3 am. We complained the next day and the manager offered a free dinner for two. Breakfast is included and featured fresh fruits, great bread and freshly squeezed papaya or watermelon juice. The staff was quite pleasant although the waiters...

Very nice hotel with friendly staff directly at the beach with lots of free sunbeds, chairs and hammocks. The location has pros and cons - it is close to everything (main plaza one minute away), however the water is not as good as up the coast - however the beach is wide and kept very well. A breakfast consisting of...
