Amazing stay
Cozy and very organized place to stay. Great service as a concierge and everyone very polite and friendly. Its not a cheap place to stay, but it is totally worth it to pay. Great breakfast as well. And it is also well located.

Super pousada! The rooms are comfortable, the location very good and Eva makes a delicious breakfast every day. Very good. Thanks dear Eva. We had a great time in Fernando de Noronha. I do really recommend this pousada.

perfect place and value
We just returned from a fantastic 6 day trip to the island first week of August. The place is at the far end of island, with no habitation to one side, or in front or in back. So the views and privacy from the porch is wonderful. There are not many places where you can have a nice view of the ocean - mostly these are the restrictions of the island, wanting to keep it pristine and not built up. The rooms had nice bathrooms (water temp was never hot), comfortable bed (we had a room for a couple, but also had our 3 year old with us, and there was room in the bed with us, we could not find reasonable triple rooms at the time), small fridge with refreshments, air conditioning that was perfect, closet space with safe, and on the porch a table couple chairs and a hammock. They have only four rooms. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, the hours were good. The staff was outstanding, they did not speak English, and we did not speak much Portuguese, but we both tried hard and managed through with smiles. We felt very safe there, it was quiet (also part of being just outside of the towns), and we were within 15-20 minute walk of a couple of beautiful beaches. At the end of the day, whatever your problems, everyone there is willing to help, other tourists included - that is part of the charm of the island, and was no different at this pousada. Don't come here expecting a usual hotel, these places are small, life on the island seems fun (was fun), but harder for the people working there, it is expensive, for everyone. Again, part of that is due to the effort of the Brazilians to keep the island as pristine and available as they can. You cannot go wrong staying here.…

We will be staying at the Miragem from June 21-25. I understand that a permit is required to get to the island. Can this be dealt with at the airport, or do we need to purchase this in advance? Also, I see that many hikes require a guide. Can we book these once on the island, or again, do we need to do so in advance? And are there hikes to take on our own? Thanks, Cynthia Colvin
Sorry for the late response. You can deal with it at the airport, no worries. It´s better if you deal with it in advance, but it´s not a big deal, you will get in line to pay the tax and fill the form. A few hikes you need to book in advance because you have a restrict number of people going in preserved areas per day.
