We had a pleasant experience staying at the Caves Motor Inn after our black water rafting experience at the glow worm caves. The rooms are fairly spacious. We had a twin bed and a single bed. It has a small balcony that offers rather nice views. There's even a microwave oven. But what is most impressive of all is the...

Hi Many thanks for your review and for the positive feedback especially regarding the restaurant. Many regulars dine with us as well as those stopping over because they feel they are well fed and well looked after!! We look forward to hosting you again sometime in the future - all the best.

Great place for the traveler. Rooms were spacious and well appointed and blessedly warm when we walked through the door. The restaurant offered a great range of food that all sounded delicious. The portions, when they arrived were generous and the two steaks ordered we cooked to perfection. Staff were welcoming and friendly and most accommodating. They even supply complimentary...

We stayed here in September.. I booked one family room and one double. Four Adults and two children for one night. It's a bit dated but then a lot of motels in NewZealand are. The manager gave us such a welcome though, he bent over backwards to help us and make our stay comfortable.the rooms were very clean and the...

A lot of road noise, and an unexpected surprise of rail noise also. Ear plugs provided in room. Staff very friendly. Very average meal in the restaurant. Hotel a little dated, could do with a bit of a touch up, otherwise reasonably priced for a one night stop over stay.

One thing I didn't expect was that many trucks parked in front of my room!! I couldn't find any park for our car! The room was clean but the bathroom was very dated! The restaurant has some good reviews but it was so uninviting that we decided to dine out. The only positive thing about this place was the bed,...

Thank you for your review ... yes we do have some guests that drive trucks staying during the week, like most establishments we have a wide range of clientele. Truck drivers always stay for great food, and service. Looks after all are only skin deep, ....Regarding the parking issue ...the thing is there is only room for a car to...

It was an OK stopover point for going to the Fieldays, but lots of road noise all night long. We had to book in for dinner as they said they were going to be busy. We were fine with this, they knew they were going to be busy but then they didn't have enought staff on. Comfortable enough but probably...

Thank you for your review we appreciate both positive and constructive reviews. Sorry your dining experience was less that expected, unfortunately winter months when staff are off sick at short notice make things a bit challenging at times. Hope you enjoyed the Fieldays. If you change your mind and do decide to stay again when travelling through, we would like...

Our room was bigger than we expected, very clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and spent time explaining the surrounding attractions. Our room was on the front close to a busy road which we thought would be noisy but the motel provided earplugs which we didn't need as with windows closed we slept well. Very reasonable cost and good...

Thank you for your review. We appreciate positive feedback Thank you for the comments regarding noise as yes we are adjacent to the main road, and we appreciate the fact that some are more sensitive to noise than others hence the ear plugs if required the rooms along the front also have triple glazing so that helps to reduce any...

We stayed here recently on the way to Auckland. It was a good stopover point, and on the highway (not too noisy, though we had windows closed). The rooms were exceptionally clean, though a little dated (however I was told that they are updating the rooms at the moment). We had a little kitchenette, which we only used some of...

Thanks for a great stay! We loved the view from our windows overlooking the cascading green mountains! We were also lucky enough to stumble across a wayward hedgehog in our travels on the property. Well worth the money spent. One thing for consideration is that the WiFi strength is fairly poor and you'll have to go down to the office...

Thank you so much for your review, and that you appreciated the country surroundings, we tend to take things like this for granted, and it is when visitors to our area point them out to us that we are reminded of how lucky and grateful we are to live in NZ.
