We stayed here for a night with our kids B14 G12 after doing a blackwater rafting tour that afternoon. We were the only family staying there so it was extremely quiet to the point where I had one of the best nights sleep during our 2 week trip to NZ. The cabin is well appointed with everything you need for...

We stayed here for one night with our two boys aged 10 and 12. The cabin is in the most amazing location on top of a hill overlooking waitomo valley and beyond all the way to Lake Taupo and Mt Ruapehu. Unfortunately for us we had very bad weather but our view over the local valley was still amazing. This...

I asked Nina to book places a little different when it came to our NZ trip, and she really delivered with Te Tiro. Our host, Rachel, was incredibly friendly and helpful and her little dog was absolutely hilarious was I was trying to park our car. Walking up to the cabin Rachel pointed out the sky, coming from the bright...

Our cottage was adorable, clean, quiet, and comfy. Rachel made us feel very welcome and suggested a great walk around Dabchick pond. The little path into the gully at night to see the glow worms was as special as the cave experience we had during the day. I was sorry we only booked one night here, I could have stayed...

We stayed here after doing the Lost World 7 hour cave tour. Te Tiro was a nice country drive out from Waitomo, and the cottage was nice and relaxing, Even though it was cold out and we were exhausted from our week in NZ, we spent 45 minutes watching the stars and walking down to see the glow worms. Angus...

Thanks Trip Advisor for helping us find this unique spot. My husband and I with another couple were doing a relatively high-end trip across New Zealand but when I found Te Tiro on your site I was captivated by the photos and reviews. The two guest cabins are very clean, small and rustic but fit perfectly into the rural setting...

When reviewing this I sat back and thought of many of the places I have been… Lots were flash and expensive, some were located in amazing places but I can honestly say that I have never stayed in a place like this and can't remember being so happy with a place that I have stayed. The "chalet" style lodgings are...

It is very hard to imagine a place based on reviews or some photos taken by someone else. Sometimes you just have to check things out for yourself. We did at Te Tiro and were blown away. The rustic "chalet" style lodgings are perfect for the amazing spot… Looking down the valley in Waitomo- is breathtaking and can be viewed...

Cycling the hills over from Kawhia around the harbor and then along Te Anga road added up to the biggest climbs we ever had in a day but it was worth it. Not just the lovely cottages, but just alone they views of beautiful Waikato and King Country. Could have just watched for hours. Local cats come for a visit...

Our honeymoon trip was five week long, everyday was exciting so naturally we were exhausted daily. Te Tiro was so cozy and comfy, I don't remember much about our first night except that I woke up 120% recharged the next morning. Then I met Rachel who was so gracious and friendly. I also had the pleasure in meeting my husband's...

“Te Tiro is located about 15 mins out of the town centre along a winding road - it is best to find it during daylight - the owners will give you good directions either way”

“Both cabins are the same. Be aware that they are small and the bathrooms are separate but very close by. Do not expect luxurious but come with a sense of adventure. It was difficult to take good photos of the interior of the cabins but there are good ones on the website.”
