Our stay at makapa has been amazing! In the "Nest" self catering cabin. Comfy and cosy. The hosts Ian and Margaret are so warm and welcoming. Absolutely love it here. The view is spectacular. Nature all around! Sun set to sun rise. You won't be disappointed!

Ian and Margaret are excellent hosts. Ours was a spur of the moment visit and we stayed 8 days. No complaints whatsoever. Beautiful surroundings - very central for Waterfront in Cape Town or Cape Point in the other direction. No shortage of wonderful eating places at very cheap prices. We had lovely breakfasts, fruit salad was delicious, then Ian and...

We stayed at the lodge for four nights, and were overwhelmed by the kindness and helpfulness of the owners Ian and Margaret. Nothing was too much trouble, they booked us tours to Robben Island, Supplied maps for attractions, and Ian, being a birdwatcher, took us out to Strandfontein, one of the premier sights for bird watching in South Africa, it...

I had a fantastic stay at Makapa Lodge. The room I had, called the Nest is a self catering little bungalow with an incredible view and a very private feeling to it. The other accommodation is at the main building with direct access to the pool and private patio/garden areas as well direct pool access. Ian and Margaret are just...

We stayed in the Garden Room which had the best view of the beautiful garden. The room has very modern feel with TV & a luxurious bath. Location is right off Long Beach Mall. Ian & Margaret were awesome and really knowledgeable about activities in the surrounding area. Thanks guys for making it a pleasant stay.

Ian and Margaret were the most fantastic hosts, as we began our trip in the Cape. From the moment we reached the 'Nest', we relaxed and were able to take in the beautiful surroundings of their garden, which reflects a host of endemic local fauna and flora, as well as a myriad of South Africa's rich birdlife. We were lucky...

Great place in a stunning location and an absolute birder's paradise - we were treated to Sunbirds and Sugarbirds outside our door every morning. Ian and Margaret are very accommodating hosts with a wealth of local knowledge.

The suite was well planned, with 3 separate areas, good tv choice, wifi once connected worked okay. The breakfast was limited in the choice of non cooked items plus the seating for the breakfast could be improved. Great location for visiting the main sights and good beaches of the peninsula. The nearby shopping Mall was very comprehensive so you should...

Makapa Lodge is a nice getaway form Cape Town. At the end of a drive in a quaint neighborhood you sit at the edge of Table Mountain National Park (Cape Point section). The area is very quiet and has a great view of the Atlantic Ocean from the pool/breakfast area. We had the room on the north side of the...
