Absolutely fantastic place with a wonderful host. Everything is clean and beautiful. You feel like you come home when you are there, especially with the cat around. Simple breakfast, just enough for the needs. Mr. Lee is almost always available and helpful. He makes sure that everything stays clean all the time. Nothing to complain about.

We stayed 5 nights at the Hupo Resort (family with 10 year daughter). It's more like a private homestay at a friends mansion than a resort. Mr. Li is a very friendly host who furnished his house very modern, clean and with a lot of plants (the pics here on tripadvisor seems to be old...now there are a lot of plants and modern and lovley decorated interior). Within 5 mimutes you can walk to the beach and 10 minutes to the night market and good food stalls (long beach). At raining evenings Mr. Li took us there by his car! We can absolutely recommend the Hupo Resort to everybody!!! Thanks to Mr. Li for his very friendly hospitality!!! Emma, Miri & Toto (from cologne, germany)

Very relaxing pool resort. Nice rooms and services. Just five minutes walk to the beach. Beautiful sunset. Especially the owner is quite warm, hospitable, and helped us a lot with finding delicious local food, sightseeing, transportations. Thank you!

My girlfriend and I stayed at Hupo Inn in Bau Ferringhi for 5 days and I could not have been more impressed. Mr. Li, the owner, can truly be proud of what he offers his customers. Everything is modern, clean, and stylish and Mr. Li went above and beyond our expectations to make our stay by him feel more like a home away from home as a hotel stay. Fantastic experience that made our stay even nicer than it already was.

We stayed 5 days at Hupo, it is less as a resort more as a homestay with very friendly owners with green fingers. The rooms/toilets are very clean and you will have a easy access to Batu Ferringhis small city centre and spectacular beach.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Everything is perfect, self service breakfast, pool and the best is the hospitality of mr. li. I will definitively stay again once I return. It’s by far more then a normal hotel stay, more like a home abroad. Thanks

The name is deceiving; a "beach front" "resort" "villa" it is not! It is a 5 bedroom house in a fairly new housing estate on the far eastern side of town, approximately a 10min walk uphill from the beach. It does have a pool though. And a few outdoor chairs. It's nice & clean and organized and everything feels fairly new. Mr Li is very friendly & also lives on the property should you need anything. But it feel like you are staying in someone's house, and therefore have to creep around as to not disturb anyone. My room was comfortable, the shower hot and powerful and the Wi-Fi strong. And there was a tiny view of the ocean, in between the high rise buildings Breakfast is included, providing you stay 3+ nights (or have a Genius status on booking-dot-com) and is a simple affair of DIY cereals, eggs and bread. Hot drinks are available all day, as is filtered water, which is a nice touch. And he provided plenty of bottled water too. This place would be great for families, provided the kids have some pool safety awareness as the kitchen/living area opens directly into the pool. There were swimming rings for those not confident in swimming & a ball and net for the bigger ones. It is a 15-20 min walk along the main road to the Night Market, food places & convenience shops which may mean this place is better suited to those with a car. However the walk from town didn't feel too unsafe in the dark. And accessing the property is fairly easy with the local bus stop at the bottom of the hill. As a bonus, being on the quieter end of town does mean the closest part of the beach (in front of the Shangri La) is much less busy & has fewer jet skis buzzing around! It is disappointing that they called this house a "beach front" property when it is not near the beach. And that it does not have a "resort villa" vibe as the name suggests.…

The place is super clean. Spacious bedrooms and a very enjoyable swimming pool to relax. Breakfast is do it yourself; eggs, bread,butter, etc. are provided but the kitchen is well equipped so no problems. As a result, people actually talk to each other over breakfast rather than being glued to their mobile phones. Li, the owner, is a perfect host and happy to share information as to where to eat and how to get around. He is a bit of a plants man too. The house and garden have beautiful plants. A perfect place for couples and families.

Hupo Inn is located very well at Batu Ferringi. The rooms are very clean and the facilities are just want we needed as a family. The kids loved the pool. No need for long walks and lifts. The host was very kind to suggest places to eat and visit. We can get to George Town easily to enjoy the city tour, temples and great local food. And on the other side of Batu Ferringi to visit Entropia and the Spice Farm. Totally recommend it!!
