Just stay there for 1 day. I pay RM180 for family room ( 2 king bedded)+ complimentry 4 breakfast..the room size was ok, very simple bathroom, no fridge & no keetle. 1 tip is, if u want stay here, please bring ur own flask to get hot water from their cafe.
Their breakfast no buffet, but u hv to choose which set that will be serve for that morning. Very simple breakfast, like me i choose set which have sosej, egg sandwich, bake bean,
Small cupcake, toast bread & a cup of coffee.
The location quit near with hawkers, shop, petrol pump & beach, very easy to get food & also near the feringghi night market.

For me i recommended for those want to save cost like me.

We stayed here for a couple of nights and everything was fine. The best thing going for this hotel is the location. It is within walking distance to Batu Franggi night market and about 5 minutes to the beach. The room small and very basic facilities.. Its value for the price that was paid.

Receptionist was very welcoming.

We stayed for 2 nights. 108RM for one double room per night.

You really do get what you pay for. One Shower (powerful) / One shabby sink / Basic bed (was surprisingly comfortable!!) / Crappy view / Decor shabby / Towels abit drabby / No fridge.

One MASSIVE downside, WIFI only available in hotel lobby and not in room. You take for granted how much you use wifi whilst backpacking!

Another downside is the free breaky. A choice of western or eastern, the quality of the food isn't great. We received it and actually didnt end up touching it!! You're only across the road from plenty of Stalls / McDonalds / 7Eleven / KFC. But you get what you pay for so that's why I am giving 3 stars.

p.s. Pop over the road and just use the facilities of the Golden Sands 5* hotel. Sssshhh!! Great pool and even bagged free fruit as they thought we were hotel guests.

You're only a 5 minute walk from the beach and in the thick of it for the night market along the stretch!

Hopefully I've managed to help you a little?

I was glad there was a fan but the aircon seems not to have any cold air. Decent hotel with nearby eateries. The beaches are walkable, which is what I came for the 2 days. Met a few nice people even though they were unknown. The hotel counter staff is friendly and hospitable.

having got bored of geogrge town, i was looking for something near the beach and this lodge came as a surpise date. The standard room is large enough with a nice window. The bed is comfortable . had a TV and good AC and friendly staff. No breakfast but many food courts around includinga KFC. Five minutes walk from the hotel is the beach. The loo and shower area almost mingle with eachother... but given the advantages...it doesnt matter much. The area is surrounded by resorts and pricey hotels. so EQ ferringhi is a blessing for an average traveller like me.....get going here....i am sure u will love it.

My partner and I were travelling around Malaysia and decided on 3 nights in Pulau Penang. As we were arriving on Chinese New Year (not the best day to travel!) during the holiday period we didn't have as much choice of accommodation as usual, or for as cheap as usual, but we ended up very pleased with the EQ Ferringhi. It suited our needs very well.

After getting off the ferry at George town we jumped onto Rapid Penang bus number 101 which goes around the island to Batu Ferringhi resort - cost 2.70 RM (approx 50p for the 40 minute journey). We alighted at the Coral Beach Resort and immediately spotted the hotel which was just over the road.

The hotel was conveniently located (obviously for the bus stop :) ) 5 minutes walk from the beach. It was very close to places to eat, a market, food court and shops and we also hired a moped for £9 a day from a place in the block of shops/ eating places by the hotel.

Room 128, a twin bedded room (it was all they had left being the busy holiday season) on the first floor, cost £34 per night for B&B. The room was basic but clean. The beds were comfortable and we had a good night sleep. The bathroom had a fabulous powerful shower with lots of hot water whenever needed.Other facilities included a TV, toiletries and a bottle of water per person each day, which was very welcome! There was no wifi in the room, but plenty of seating in the reception area where it was free with a good signal.

Breakfast was a choice of 2 set 'meals' - a traditional Malaysian type meal or a more 'European' version which we opted for, coffee or tea. The coffee, made from bags, looked very dark but was very tasty! Breakfast over the 3 days included some of the following - chicken sausage, chicken 'ham', baked beans, scrambled egg and buttered sweetcorn. There was also toast and jam, boiled egg sandwiches and delicious banana cake.

The staff were very nice and friendly.

If you are looking for a conveniently located, comfortable, clean, reasonably priced hotel then EQ Ferringhi Hotel fits the bill!

The place is in desperate need of an upgrade and modernisation.
You can get much better for your money or rather you could pay significantly less for the same/similar thing almost next door to it (the place was overpriced by at least 40%).
The wireless only works in the lobby. We had booked for 3 nights and wanted to check out after getting there and pay for one night only but because we had booked through Hotels.com the payment was taken from our card (as opposed to paying on departure which seem to be the norm there) so the Hotel didn’t allow us to get out of the booking.
I made the booking based on the reviews I saw on Tripadvisor; having stayed at this place last week, I am now wondering if the reviews were for a different place, since it was not half as good as what the reviews had indicated!!
The room wasn’t clean and there were hairs everywhere, avoid the place. You can get much better for the same money or pay much less for something similar.
They were doing some repair work when we were there last week. That resulted in a lot of nose….early in the morning about 9am there were noise from hammer drill, banging and subsequently smell of paint. Avoid the place.

If you aren't so particular about your sleep and you can handle immense noise, then this hotel is it. Stayed for 4 nights, we ended up more tired than ever! Room is just ok. Internet sucks big time! We won't be coming back for sure.

This hotel doesn't worth its money. The rooms need refreshment and maintenance. It seems that it was nice a couple of years ago but now it looks really poor.

ROOMS: the first room we were given had a liking sink and AC didn't work. So we changed it without problems. In the second one shower heater didn't work... The room was in poor condition: frayed walls, dirty sheets, old furniture. The rooms are badly equipped: there were even no hangers for wet clothes, although the hotel is near the seaside.

WIFI: good free Wifi in every room

BATHROOM: no shampoos or showergels. Just some liquid soap -the same as for handswashing. No hairdryer. Two towels are given.

STAFF: quite friendly

LOCATION: perhaps, the only good thing in this hotel. Situated in quiet street, 5 mins walk to the beach and nightmarket with foodcourts. 3 mins walk to the bus stop. Also there are a lot of cafes around the hotel.

There is also a lift in the hotel. Which makes it comfortable to go to the upper floors with your heavy bags.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. You can find much better hotels in this area for the same price.
