Upon arrival at the Rasa Motel (free parking) we were greeted by the loveliest, friendliest host. I believe her name was Goi. She asks all about you, how you are doing, etc., gives you a map to explain how to get to the nearby attractions, and explains the water and drinks situation at the motel.
We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a triple room in the new wing which provided a double and a single bed. The room itself was very clean and bright with a fancy new air conditioner. It's easy to tell how new the bathrooms are as well!
It's only a 5 minute walk to the beach and Goi can recommend any and all types of food/cuisine that you please, she seems to have all the insider knowledge! They also let us keep our leftover Nasi Kandar in a fridge since there is no fridge in the rooms.
I would highly recommend to stay here if you are looking to stay in Batu Ferringhi on a budget but not sacrifice a warm welcome, a neat room, and a great location.

For a budget motel - very comfortable, extremely clean and friendly service. Better than some 4 star hotels I've stayed. Good location - close to beach, cafes and convenience shops. Quiet surroundings.

Great place! The most kind and helpfull staff we ever experienced. Very nice and clean rooms and at good central location near the night market and the beach. A lot of free parking and a nice massage place next door where u can get discount because you stay at Rasa.

So i came with my friends just to visit Penang. We stay only one night, but im glad this is our best option. The receptionists, uncle and aunty, they're really do a good service. Checked in a double room with tv and window. The room was quite small as we need to make a way for each other if we want walk around in the room. Not much space to put your luggage. The lights in the room also quite dim. Bathroom is equipped and clean but quite small. They had basic table and mirror.
Locations wise, it is nearby to the main road and also convenience market. For the night market you just need o walk around 10 minutes. they had free space for parking and nearby to bus stop if you want ride to Penang by bus.

We stayed for 2 nights and wished we could stay longer. The property is within a few minutes walk to the beach and all the night stalls. The bedrooms are ultra clean and had one of the comfiest beds we've slept in whilst being away 5 months in Asia. The property has a shared kitchen and free coffee and tea facilities. The main attraction to this place is the owners as they are the friendliest and most helpful people we've come across on our travels. Both mornings we were given breakfast as the owner decided to cook ( we did not pay for any breakfast in the price). On the first day we were given some homemade Chinese pastries which were some of the nicest pastries we've ever tasted and the second morning we were given homemade pancakes which were also great. The motel has only been taken over by the new owners 5 months ago and I'm sure they will be successful as they are so kind and take pride in their business. We will definitely stay again when we're back. Thanks again

I travelled a lot in Asia but never enjoyed a stay as much as I did at Rasa Motel.
The service is incredible good. The owners are wonderful people, treating their guests like family which creates a great atmosphere between all the people staying there. Can’t describe how good the service was...way better than I could expect.
The Hotel is super clean - I stayed a week and haven´t seen any cockroaches...had not even one mosquito in my room.
The location is perfect-quiet at night and close to beach, nightmarket, restaurants, etc.
Attention! Ignore the old reviews. The owners, management and philosophy of this Hotel changed; only the name remained the same. If you’re in Penang and you should definitely try this excellent Hotel.

Booked through agoda but at price above RM100, I would say it is a a bit too much.
Pros:
- Close to Night Market & Beach.
- Own parking space
Cons:
- Too much noise. It is actually just a same building with a massage/spa & bar/lounge. You can hear somebody sing at night!
- Thin wall. I am not expecting a full sound proof but at least not at a level to hear somebody talking from next room.
- No wifi.
- leaking bathroom.
