We decided to try The Lone Pine for our stay in Penang this year as it got quite good reviews on TripAdvisor and the hotel's website made it look like a beautiful, contemporary property. We arrived late at night so checked into our Corner Room which initially looked okay and went to sleep. It was only in the morning that...

The Lone Pine hotel is near the end of the main Batu Ferringhi hotel strip, next door to the Golden Sands. We booked a corner room, but were upgraded to a 2nd floor Deluxe Suite. The room was quite large, with a big comfortable bed, a separate 'day room' with a large day bed in it, a large bathroom area,...

Booked the Lone Pine based on TripAdvisor ranking and reviews and feeling a bit betrayed! This beautiful beach front property has a lot of potential but fails to deliver. The standard rooms are very standard- comfortable bed, TV, DVD player, bad quality shampoo/conditioner, dryer, toothbrush... They offer complimentary flip flops that you can take home as souvenirs, thought it was...

Stayed 1 night for my birthday celebrate . Checked in late and get my room upgraded. Room door was facing garden n sea. Swimming pool was nice, and enjoyed the varieties provided during breakfast. I checked in at 3:30pm, freshen up.... Went out for a walk and came back finding my room's mineral water refilled. And found a letter stating...

The hotel comes with good location, good food (especially the Char Kar Theow) and very fine rooms. The balcony is perfect. Yes - there can be some noise (music) in parts of the hotel in the evening from the local bar but the hotel is none the less superb.

Loved this place. Was not sure about Ferringhi and in general the area is nothing special. The beach however is nice enough and there are some pretty good bars and restaurants in the area. If you are staying at Lone Pine, you will however have good time. Very nice old property, extremely relaxing grounds and pool area. Rooms could not...

Lone Pine is a beautiful boutique hotel with character. We were greeted by friendly staff on arrival, offering us towel and drink as we check-in. The room we got was big and very comfortable for 2 of us. Beach was accessible directly from the hotel. For dinner, we took a 5 min walk to Long Beach which serves a selection...

We were staying at Lone Pine between Christmas and New Year 2014 and were very impressed with the fabulous design and location of the hotel. Nice beach faced rooms on grown floor with a possibility of opening up the front 'living room' to bring in the sea breeze when relaxing at the room, yet giving privacy inside the actual bedroom....
