Dirty, bad service, wifi and A/C don’t works. I forgot my swimsuit in the bathroom, I sent them a message to keep it the same day. When I went back to grab it they told me they throw it up… unbelievable ..
Stayed here for 11 nights. If you are looking for luxury this is not it, but you will get a basic clean room with en-suite bathroom, bottled water and clean towels every day. There is a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities in room also. And the A/C works really well. It is situated in a really good place near bus stops, food stalls, chemist, grocery shops etc. There is also a karaoke bar and a chinese restaurant in the same building. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. If we needed anything it was no trouble. We felt safe and comfortable here and a had a lovely time in Batu Ferringhi.
This place is on the top floor of a converted shopping centre and has a lift, which all the other cheap hotels around it don't. It's also very close to a mini-mart, chemist, doctor, restaurants and McDonalds, a taxi depot and bus stop to the airport and George Town. "Reception" is a portable kiosk at the top of the few stairs to the centre's entrance from the road. I stayed two nights, one of which was sleepless because of noisy neighbouring guests partying late after Independence Day celebrations.
Stayed here one night and it wasn't the best choice. I knew this hotel/motel is located in an old shopping mall, but what i dint know is the condition of the upper floors of this shopping mall is kinda abandoned. The rooms are located at 3rd floor and the reception is at 1st floor, you might just walk pass the reception counter without knowing that you need to check in there. 1.Service: cant really comment as i hardly met any staff or receive any services. 2. Room: a)small, the windows of the room are facing the corridor which everyone walks pass. no privacy at all if you leave the curtains open and it makes us felt unsafe. b)the aircond is cooling but it makes noise, cant even have a good night rest. 3.Cleanliness: average. only provide towels and mineral water. 4. Location : the only great thing to shout about! easy access to food stalls,MCD,SUBWAY,KFC,convenient store. Paid RM100 for one night stay and we felt it wasn't worth it. p/s: Will not recommend to solo female travelers, as the pathway to this hotel is dark w/out lights(nighttime) and surrounded by abandoned shop lots.…
Stayed at this 2 weeks and although we didn't get off to a good start, we ended up really liking this motel. Check in is on the steps of an old shopping mall and the rooms are on the 3rd floor, a bit like a shop unit with a bed in it - if you get a room with a window that is. Our initial impression was how fast can we leave, but a change of room and some helpful staff - especially the cleaners, put our minds to rest. The windows do not open, so no ventilation, but the air con is good. The WiFi is decent enough and the sockets are uk compatible. The wet room is tired but clean, although some new sealant round the basin wouldn't go amiss. The shower had 2 settings - off and very hot, although the water pressure was so low at times, the water had cooled down a bit before it reached us. The motel can also be noisy. This was down to inconsiderate guests and happened maybe 4 - 6 times over the 2 weeks. We couldn't help but fall for this place for all its shortcomings. The location is almost perfect, with good restaurants and services on the lower floors. If you want 5* treatment, buy a day pass to one of the 5* hotels opposite or just sit at one of the nearby beach bars. Here you're buying somewhere to sleep, nothing more. We'd stay there again, but don't ask me why, I'm not sure I could explain it. Strangely I think after a few days it really did start to feel like home. …
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights in May and we were very pleased. Clean and spacey room, fridge, drinking water, wifi, aircon, great location in Batu Ferringhi and a very nice reception. They were accommodating and helpful. Ask if you need changing towels or cleaning up. It's a budget place so it is inexpensive. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly return.
It's how you get to this place in what kind of mind set. Sure it's not a big room, it doesn't have the biggest reception, doesn't have an own bar or restaurant. But it's cheap, clean en near near the centre!!! The people behind the desk are nice, your on the back of the building. For us it was a nice stay! They didn't clean our sheets but it's okay for us we use our on cocoon. If you want new towels of sheets I'm sure they will help you with it with no problem! Everything is around the corner. Remember life in batu ferringhi starts a rond 6 pm.
Our plans where to stay 2 nights ended up staying 7 :). Location: this was a highlight as 'my budget home' was a easy walk away from the beach, night markets, rapidbus stop it was pretty much close to everything. Owners: absolutely lovely, very accommodating, helpful and the cleaners are also very friendly, That made us feel very safe and at home. Price: so cheap! 'My budget home' offered a very reasonable price per night! Free wifi, 24/7 a/c! All and all was a great stay here in Penang! Definitely recommend for anyone travelling on a budget that is looking for something clean and private!
Stayed here initially for 3 nights and ended up extending our stay! The staff are all so friendly and the location is fantastic. 2 minute walk to the bus stop, beach and my market. There is a pharmacy and plenty of food options all nearby. There are restaurants and smaller locally run cafes. The stall across the road even had a projector showing the football which my boyfriend loved! The room was perfect for what we needed. Bed, aircon, fridge, bathroom, wifi and tv. Brilliant value for money and ignore the previous comment about not suitable for female travellers. There are security guards patrolling the area and many of the shops in the building are open until late!
I have chosen this place because of its very low rates and good location near the beach. To add some more pros, the owner is very nice, the AC is powerful, wi-fi working well and the rooms are clean. On the other hand I have to say the rooms are located in a very strange building - something like shopping centre from the 80ties - with mane other hostels, offices etc. What looks like rooms balconies on the photos is actually a common balcony used by people to walk around the building. And the windows of our rooms were facing this balcony - needles to say it was the same like having no windows and I did not felt safe there. The major problem however was the noise - from the road and mainly from the other rooms. Loud music with the room doors wide open and shouting during the night were totally unbearable. And there is no staff to help you in such a case (reception is just a desk on the ground floor and is abandoned for the most of the time). so, we really saved some money by staying here, but I would not do that again.…
