Firstly the staff, they are all really lovely and cannot do enough for you. When we checked in we realised that we had accidentally booked the wrong week! But this wasn’t an issue as we were given a better room for the same price! In fact, we actually enjoyed our stay that much we ended up staying for 14 nights!

The location is great, there’s plenty to do, lots of great cheap restaurants and the beach is less than a few minutes walk. Initially it was hard to find as it’s placed in an old shopping centre on the 2nd floor. We took the escalators but there is also a lift. Once you get inside, the secure front door the reception is modern and clean, 24hr help is always available and the rooms lock with a physical key.

You get way more than you’d expect for the price. Modern clean rooms with refurbished en suite with rainfall shower. Hot water at all times and reliable WiFi. Tea and coffee 24/7 too! And breakfast everyday until 11am!!

Every 3 days we got clean towels, fresh sheets and the room was cleaned.

Some guests have complained about the noise from the charaoke which is on the same floor but our room was the closest to this and we were never kept up, the latest would could just about hear it was 23:30 but this was on a Saturday night!

The only downsides, albeit small, were the lack of variety at breakfast, lack of natural light in the rooms due to the windows facing into the shopping centre so the curtains should be closed, and the WiFi was a bit slow, but only noticeable if streaming HD videos, for general web surfing it was more than capable!

Overall me and my partner were very happy with our 2 weeks we spent here, we felt very safe and relaxed and you can’t argue with the price! It saved us a lot of money on our 6 month trip and was one our favourite place we stayed in Penang!

Thank you once again, if we are ever in Malaysia again we will be sure to visit :)

Manager of the place is really nice and helpful. Room was clean and spacious. Don't be put off by the impression of the building (mall). Nice Andrew's cafe only few meters away if you hungry straight away! Great location for the beach and bus station.

The building where the room is placed is very dodgy. However the moment u step in to their hotel you will be amazed with Service, friendliness, design and cleanliness. Very well managed and amazed how a small space can be managed such a way. Breakfast is prepared internally no option but I think it’s fine. Coffee is free flow. Would recommend this place

It is located at the heart of Batu Feringghi, thus beaches, night markets, mini markets and restaurants/stalls are just walking distance. You can easily make your way to the hotel by using the centre entrance of Eden Parade and take the lift opposite KFC to Level 2.

My room was new and spacious, and I am totally in love with its simple yet modern decoration. Although the room is not equipped with mini bar, you can still enjoy a free-flow drink selections at the lobby. Also, there is no paid TV channels but you can still enjoy a number of latest movies which are stored in memory device. In addition, you can start your day by having a packet of nasi lemak/fried noodles at the lobby for breakfast, together with cereal and yogurt.

The staff performances are above all. They have done a good job by taking an initiative to decorate my room for my husband's birthday, together with a complimentary cake. Briefly, why spend more when you can feel like home in Roomies Suites.

True to its tagline, Roomies suites Penang offers its patrons an experience to affordable luxury located at one of the popular beaches of Penang. Aside from the dodgy location (eden parade), I have absolutely no qualms with the hotel. The room is very clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Basic amenities are provided by the hotel: TV, free wifi, hairdryer, clean towels, rain shower. For the price we paid, this hotel is super worth it. The walls are quite thin, however, so occasionally we can hear what goes on outside.

I am honestly at awe how simple and cozy this place is it. Don't expect great hotel services with amazing hotel view. This place does the job it is supposed to do and this is housing tourist comfortably with a modern simplistic deco to ease the eyes.

My issue is that my suite comes with the tap and basin outside of the bathroom which is weird and made it messier when water started dripping at the bottom. Also the beds were positioned on top of the the lounge area, like a bunk bed scenario and it is directly facing the air-conditioning. Getting up and down is a small challenge of its own (since the lights switch are all the way down) but I find myself needing to bring the aircond remote up with me just so I can adjust the freezing in your face temp from above.

Breakfast is meh but I was also probably the only occupant then so understandbly it didn't make sense to have a whole breakfast spread for one or two person. But I would rather have my breakfast elsewhere.

Staffs are AMAZING!!!
Nothing less to say about it and the interior has a modern simply chic to it that is up my alley.

Recommend it if you just want a comfy place to stay while visiting Penang and not a 3 star hotel service (eg. Housekeeping, pool, mini fridge - these things are not available).

The name 'suites' sound 5 star but is actually renovation of some shop houses at 2nd floor and converted for the purposes. Breakfast is provided but nasi lemak is actually hawker food. Services can be better. Need to walk through public corridor and up by a lift which does not look safe and dirty.

Roomies is a great choice if you're looking for cheap accommodation in Batu Ferringhi without compromising on quality. YES, the building it's in is pretty grim, but once you get up to the hotel and pass the countless people trying to sell you a massage you're sweet! Other reviews have mentioned the lift is dodgy but after lugging our bags up 2 (non working) escalators we decided to give it a go and never looked back. The location is great for access to the beach, the night markets and Andrews Kampung is right across the hall, which is one of the best restaurants ever! We didn't experience noise from the karaoke place at all, in fact it was very peaceful at night. The breakfast is functional - it's not going to rock your world but it's fine and fills you up til lunch. Beer is the cheapest around - a beer is 6 ringgit and a fizzy drink 2 ringgit - cheaper than the nearby supermarkets! I was also really pleased after reading on the booking website that it had a queen bed, we actually had a king bed. We had room 800 which i'd definitely recommend. The hotel is clean, the staff are great and it has a great vibe. tea, coffee and water available all day every day. Roomies for us was a really excellent choice if you can't bring yourself to pay the megabucks for the average looking beach hotels - highly recommended!

For those who are not willing to pay the price of a 4 or 5 star hotel in the Batu Ferringhi area, Roomies suite is an excellent choice.

It is located at a convenient location with a wide plethora of scrumptious local delights. There are many massage parlors nearby and the night market is merely around 5 mins away. However, I was really disappointed by the night market at Batu Ferringhi. Instead of a normal market like structure, the place consisted of a long stretch of shops that all sold the same things. Also, I did not feel that I was shopping in Penang as 80% of stalls managed by Lebanese & Bangladeshi. Some goods are also marked up ridiculously high. If you see something you like, I highly recommend you to hold your horses and check the price with a few more stores first. Some owners are very unfriendly and purposely mark up the prices if they see that you are a tourist and cannot speak their native tongue.

I had booked a family suite with a connecting room. The check in was very fast and efficient. Their staff was also very friendly and helpful.

The lobby area was very nicely decorated, giving off a very warm and cosy atmosphere, perfect for taking photos.

We were given a room which was very nice and modern looking. Despite having a karaoke next to the Roomies suite, we could not hear any noise when we were in the rooms, so no complains there. However, there was no window. Additionally, the bathroom in room 805 does not have a good layout. The toilet bowl is too close to sink. The bathing area is also not separated from the toilet, so it can be dangerous for the elderly, especially if they use the bathroom after someone has just bathed. Furthermore, the sofa in room 806 is not clean. My daughter got bitten by something and got a few itchy lumps after sitting on it. One of the blue colour towels we were given had some white coloured things on it. I'm not sure if it was dust or left over washing powder.

Also, to those interested in just enjoying the hotel stay, do note that the TVs are not connected to the TV stations. However the hotel does provide a thumb drive with a variety of movies to chose from such as Antman, Hotel Transylvania, Minions, IP man etc. (note that not all the thumb drives contain the same movies. Some have more choices and others have the more recent movies.)

I dislike the policy of no shoes in the hotel and pantry as I didn't feel that the floor was clean. Thus walking bare foot was a bit of a torture. The floor at the pantry area also feels pretty dirty. This could be due to spillage from overtine or 3 in 1 coffee powder. Overall, it was very uncomfortable to have to walk around without shoes or slippers and very troublesome to have to wear and remove them before entering and leaving the lobby. (I would advice you to bring hotel slippers as I saw the staff wearing them sometimes)

Breakfast tasted delicious. On the first day, the staff had even personally made our breakfast for us on the spot! It was simple western meal of toast and eggs. On the second day, we were given the option of nasi lemak or cereal with milk.

Overall my stay at Roomies suite was very satisfactory and I would not mind staying there again.

Directions: Upon arriving at Eden Parade Mall, look for KFC. There is a lift lobby opposite KFC. Take the life to level 2. You can also take the escalator. However, it is not well maintained and feels like it can collapse at any time.

Cost of Taxis from Airport to Roomies Suite was Rm$74. Using Uber to go George Town or any other place in Penang is super cost saving and convenient.
