However, the relaxing atmosphere is sometimes marred by loud music. Guests have expressed concerns about the value, pointing to unexpected fees and subpar amenities.
Room conditions have been called into question, with reports of dampness and the need for renovations. Cleanliness is generally good, though some inconsistencies are noted. The location remains a top draw for its scenic beachfront and access to local activities.

This hotel/resort is quite small which is exactly what we wanted. Myself and 4 others were in the 400 and 500 series villas. The rooms were spacious and had everything we needed at first. My only complaint is that despite daily tipping for the cleaning staff, most of the week our supplies like face cloths, hand towels, clean cups etc were not replenished. We managed and it was a slight inconvenience. The grounds were clean and well maintained, the pool was really warm and we really felt like we had the resort to ourselves. The buffet had excellent food and they were always willing to cook up other foods upon request like burgers, fries, chicken wings and chicken tenders. The staff was always eager to please the guests. The 1 a la carte restaurant was not busy, we had the small space just for ourselves. I think we had pasta and beef tenderloin, very tasty. We went to the sanctuary but we all felt that it was an overpriced excursion. We did find value in doing a river boat tour. We also hired a boat from Dennis who was on the beach to take us out on the water to watch the sunset. It was wonderful!! Money well spent. We hired a taxi to take us to Coco Beach and be warned...it was $70 USD for roundtrip which we thought was way too expensive for the 15 minute drive each way. All in all, Costa Rica is my new favourite vacation destination, I loved the country and the people. I was very pleased with the resort and I would definitely return

Where does one start to leave a review when there is so much to rave about?
Upon our arrival was greeted warmly by Marcella one of the front desk receptionists. Her and Tatiana are more like a Concierge as they inquired if we need anything at anytime to not hesitate to ask. From dining reservations to kayak and Stand Up Paddle Board or Transportation.
In the Dining there is Award winning Chef Christian and sidekick Andres the Pastry Chef. Little pastries and desserts are normally not my thing but surprisingly little morsels of goodness could possibly be so exquisite.
“LeoTheLion” served up a poured over coffee which was my first ever Experience. Quite exquisite. The waitresses we had would come by and offer up to give us any food we may want to enjoy often after breakfast had been closed.
Christian served up fresh Ceviche dishes created personally and had them brought to us. He also served a dish of Mahi Mahi with lemon and Capers that was truly fantastic.
As for a private dining experience, would be exceptionally tough to beat. (Romero Jorge) and Abby were our waiter and waitress for our fine dining. Nothing was spared for such an experience. We most enjoyed the Ceviche and the freshly caught Tuna from the nearby Pacific Ocean.
Our Bartenders Dennis and Ronaldo made exceptional drinks our favorites were Tropical Mule, Pińa Colada and a Mojito. They went out of there way to bring us drinks whenever they saw us. They enjoyed making and personalizing our drinks. If you wanted them stronger they had no problem doing such.
The rooms are exceptional although we didn’t find ourselves in the room for long. The bed, sheets, blanket, and pillows were as exactly what we would have chosen ourselves if this was our own room at home. The Air Conditioning worked well and helped us cool down from the warmer temperatures pool side. Anna was our housekeeper and she would ask us by name if we needed anything in our room and handled it without disturbing our peace.
I normally wear my watch other than to sleep to keep track of my busy schedule. Found that I actually removed my watch and embraced “Tico Time”
Alfonso is the Mayor of Costa Conde and wants to know that all is in your favor as a guest and he is an exceptional host.

Picked this resort because it was smaller (50 rooms), quiet and only 1/2 hour from the airport. Open air buffet was nice and the food was good. Staff throughout the resort were really pleasant. The long relatively quiet public beach was clean and excellent for walking as the tide was out during the day but came in at night to firm up the sand. Pool maintenance was excellent. Patio door latches were not secure on our room but overall safety at this resort seems to be very good. To put guests at ease, rooms could be fitted out with sticks to stop patio doors with poor latches from being slid open. There were very few mosquitoes as the Guanacaste area is very dry this time of year. Checkout is at 11 am with no air conditioned waiting area, so if 33 in the shade is not your thing, be prepared for a very warm wait if your shuttle pickup time is 1:30 pm like ours was.

The quiet beach, good food, pleasant staff, and excellent pool maintenance all made for a delightful experience. Your suggestion for adding sticks to secure patio doors is noted for enhanced safety. This is not a 5 star resort. Not sure how guests are giving this resort 5 stars on trip advisor. At best this resort is a 2.5 star not worth the $6100 we paid with SUNWING. The resort needs major updating. Yes the property is clean and service great but that only goes so far. Breakfast and lunch the same everyday. Dinner is at least a different theme each night. Same side dishes main course is the change. Most complaints from those staying at the resort is you have to play with the shower tap to get hot water as the tap is broke. Soap dishes falling off the walls. Toilet seat needed replacing. Main light switch broke in the room, wifi hit and miss. TV remote was not for the room and tv became grainy 3rd day in. Rooms are not mopped only sweeped with a towel on the end of a broom stick. Ants in the bed and damn the ants everywhere by the pool. Lots of bites. I’m sure the property could be sprayed to manage this. At least the weather was great, that was the only 5 star.

Disapointed with accomodation, tiered building ill fitting drawers, only one out of six close, sink plug doesnt work due to calcium build up, shower taps loose, paper thin walls, no internal phone system only way to contact reception is to walk up to main building. Demand for $150 for any accidental damage on arrival is ridiculas. A charge of $45 dollars for lunch on last day at an all inclusive is robbery. No lounge area to sit, people sat in restaurant playing cards after meal as no other option. Sportsbar set away from main buildings, bar size of double garage with six seats and a pool table uneven path limited lighting no toilet or outdoor seating. However. It has a great location on the beach, 2 pools one quiet the other loud music, plenty of sun loungers, it is generally quiet with various wildlife arrounf from iguanas to monkeys and colourful birdlife. Take binoculars. Absolutely great staff from cleaners groundsmen up to the Chef, food is good, all drinks very good quality. Unfortunately this is not a boutique hotel but could be. As a side notjce its $ 70 taxi rude to Coco beach and return. I do not think this is good value hotel for the money, but some do. There are a number of people who will disagree with me but after 40yrs of travel i am trying to be honest and not a moaner of a cetain age group.

I stayed 2 weeks in this hotel by myself. I paid 5060 US dollars for it and it was totally NOT worth! When a bartender doesn’t show up, they keep the bar closed. It happened 3 times at the sports bar and even once at the pool bar! When you pay so much money, you expect service but it’s more a self service hotel. I ended up drinking from my mini bar. The management could call for an interim replacement instead of just keep the bar closed. The bartenders are very friendly and will make your favorite drink with a smile. I asked for my favorite shot, Scooby-Doo, they didn’t know it but search how to make it which was great!
Every day there was something missing. When I woke up, I was already thinking, what will it be today. Or regular Imperal beer, or white wine or something liquor to make my shot is not available or one of the bars is closed. Well, I didn’t pay so much money for that! They should be better organized, have stock and replacement for staff when they don’t show up.
The food is awful for my taste. Only the beef in the restaurant or pizza and rice is good. At lunch I even didn’t go to the buffet anymore, only the snacks at the pool bar are good but then you have to be lucky that’s open. Bartender Elijas and Dylan are very good.
They were refurbishing the sports bar, well that was still in a good shape. They better look into the bathrooms from the old building which is much more needed! Around the bathroom window there is a 1 cm open space totally around so you here all the noises from outside. I ended up always putting the airco on and ear plugs to be able to sleep. Rooms are clean but very very dated!
There are no umbrellas, when you want to have shade you have to hide under a tree which ends up spiders falling on you. I have had many on me and in my glass.
Workers starting already at 8 am cutting grass, blowing away leaves or the cleaning lady comes into your room while you want to sleep longer. She even came in while I was still in my bed! It’s holiday, I want to sleep but that is almost impossible there.
Conclusion: poor management, poor food, bad and noisy rooms, very dated bathrooms but very friendly bartenders and all is clean to end with a positive note.

This was supposed to be a romantic retreat, but the resort left us feeling very u appreciated. For starters, it was obvious at check in that we were a couple. But the staff assigned us a double-bed room, and in a villa between two families with children. And both the grandpa and dad kept creeping up to my wife which was another kind of weird. The resort was maybe 30% at capacity. So it was a really bad move for the staff to put us in a room choice that doomed any notion of romance, and basically ruined our stay.
The maid service was horrible as well. Kind of hard to mess this up, but the maid would come once a day but still leave us with the same wet dirty towels from the first day - she never once changed the towels to dry ones!! There is also no door tags to waive maid service so the maid will get into your room whether you like it or not.
The food was mediocre. They try, but you’re not going to get top quality proteins in an all-inclusive deal.
The location of the resort is great. And it’s too bad that we had such a poor experience because we live in Costa Rica and would have easily returned had the resort treated us well.
In conclusion, while this seemed like a deal at the time of booking, I would recommend paying a little more and trying another place in the area.

We sincerely regret that your stay did not meet your expectations, particularly regarding the room assignment. In our hotel, standard rooms are equipped with two beds as part of their default configuration, which may have contributed to the situation you described. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into account to improve future room assignments, ensuring that romantic details are prioritized for couples. Regarding the housekeeping service, our rooms are equipped with specific signage to communicate guest preferences. We regret that this did not work properly in your case, and we will review this process internally to prevent it from happening again. We appreciate you pointing this out, as it will help us improve. Lastly, we understand your disappointment with the food, though we are glad to hear that you found the resort's location to be positive. We would like to invite you to return in the future, so we can provide you with an experience that better aligns with your expectations. Thank you for your feedback, as it helps us continuously improve and offer a better experience to our future guests.

We found that it was just what we wanted: conveniently close to the small, user-friendly Liberia airport, a quiet, but spacious retreat with like-minded fellow travellers and attended to by cheerful and accommodating staff. Anita and Dan, at front reception, were always to ready to address our issues. Our Garden View room, located in a quiet, shady area perfect for bird watching, was lacking in only two respects: comfortable chairs for lounging and English TV stations. WiFi, though, filled in that gap. Grounds-keepers cheerfully worked constantly to control nature's regeneration (leaves, branches, grasses). Housekeeper, Jacqueline, always with a ready smile, followed our requests perfectly. The buffet dining room hours were generous, like the scope of the menu. Everyday chef Christian and his staff proudly offered a wide range of ethnic dishes and flavours. The sauces were great, and, the ice cream, especially, was appreciated by the two octogenarians. Service in the restaurant was always prompt and light-hearted.
We were especially treated to nearby wildlife: the howlers, iguanas and so many birds!
Our safety was never a concern. A security gate allowed us free access to the beach where we were able to move without any worries of unwanted attention.

My wife and I stayed at the CC Beach Front Papagayo from Nov. 9th to 16th. Overall, the resort was very nice, and the food was amazing. The wait staff and bar tenders were supper nice and always smiling and made sure you had everything you needed. We stayed in a master suite and the room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Although we had the tail end of tropical storm Sara and it dropped a large amount of rain and the resort was flooded and we had a tree come down on our building, we powered through and made the best of our vacation. Zip lining was amazing. My biggest complaints were that the management never once asked how we were dealing with the flooding and if they could do anything or when the tree came down on our building no one came to see if everyone was okay. We received notice from AC that our flight was canceled on Sat. Nov. 16th on Friday by text message and an email. All attempts to find out if we were going to be staying at the resort of moved to a hotel with our onsite AC representative fell on deaf ears. Was on hold with AC for 4 hours and my battery ended up dyeing. We had no choice but to stay one extra night at the resort. They charged us $1100.00 USD for one night to stay in a resort that had flooded pools that could not be used and flooded ground that we could not walk. Access to the beach was closed due to the flooding so basically, we were staying in our room.

Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful review of our resort! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed many aspects of your stay, from the tranquil atmosphere to the exceptional dining experiences and personalized drinks crafted by our amazing team, especially Josue. We’re delighted that our superior rooms, with their comfort and amenities, met your expectations and that our pools provided a refreshing and enjoyable experience. The details about our al fresco dining atmosphere and high-quality culinary offerings truly reflect the ambiance we aim to create. We also appreciate your feedback on areas for improvement, such as the beach ambiance. While the natural beauty of Playa Panamá has its charm, we understand that it may not meet everyone's expectations for lounging.

Everyone here was extremely friendly and accommodating. The wait staff were on point. They were friendly, courteous, friendly and very good at their jobs. The bar could have a slightly better selection of alcohol but regardless good drinks. The welcome drink (mango and peppermint) instantly made you feel refreshed and relaxed. Check in was easy and not having to carry a key (door are coded) made the stay much easier. The garden view rooms leave a bit to be desired as they are slightly outdated and one of them was a little run down. However, for a very small upgrade fee I had a partial beach view and that rooms was a huge improvement. Food was always good, nothing to write home about but definitely better than hotel food. The dessert menu!! If you have a sweet tooth they sure do accommodate it with every meal is an assortment of sweets. The two pools are well kept, each with its own swim up bar. Unfortunately it rained every day we were here because the excursions they offer look like lots of fun! I would come back but I would recommend avoiding the rainy season as it does nothing but that all day! Also, be aware during the rainy season don’t leave your door open as the bugs will make their way inside, just like you they like to be dry.

Good afternoon, we are close to a wooded area, so there are always chances to spot some wildlife in its natural state, sloths are within the possibilities, at the same time as raccoons and coatis. We hope you visit us and have the opportunity to see sloths in their natural state, if not there are rescue places for these animals where it is a fact that you will be able to see them and have them close.
