The hotel was hard for us to find since there isn't really a sign. We ended up asking a local resident where to find it. There isn't a lot of parking at the hotel and if you arrive at dinner time there may be no spots. There is almost no place to park in town either. The staff was friendly and helpful despite our arriving right in the middle of dinner hour. our room was quite unique. older style furnishings and a fantastic view from our balcony. the room had hardwood floors and was quite clean. the room had no Air conditioning , but there were large windows and it ended up being comfortable to sleep. The bathroom was large and clean. The bed was comfortable. Again sheets would be nice, but they had those thick comfortors that I am sure are great when its 40F outside, but maybe a tad warm in summer. It is a no shoes hotel to keep things clean. They have a rack to keep outside shoes. They supply slippers, but none in my size -13. lucky i had some slippers in my bag. They have a restaurant at the hotel interestingly the night we arrived it was a BBQ of sorts. no menu, just what they were grilling. it was quite good. there is an outdoor dining area as well. The hotel was pretty quiet and sleep quality was good. Breakfast was great. we had our own table assigned with a name tag. how cute. Lots of bread, ham, cheese, eggs. the town center is a very short walk from the hotel. The area around Ehrwald is very beautiful. the Zugspitze is very close. Overall a very interesting and pleasant place.…
We simply had a great stay at Mairs Landgasthof for our skiing holiday. The hotel is clean and spacious, the room with balcony the same. The staff is very kind and offers a great service, both breakfast and dinner were awesome in quality and variety. The hotel is situated closely to all facilities. The bus stop towards the slopes is a minutes walk away, but taking the car is also a fine option (parking at the slopes is cheap or free, depending on where you go, and you can park right behind the hotel). All in all, would definitely recommend Mairs Landgasthof! and we will be looking to stay there again next time we go skiing in the Ehrwald region!
We spent 2 nights at this hotel in the wonderful town of Ehrwald while passing through on a multi-week bicycle trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and comfortable. There are beautiful places to explore right from the hotel, and restaurants and small shops are within easy walking distance. The hotel has a lot of guests who are active and exploring during the day, so they ask that you take off your shoes when you enter and leave your shoes in a shoe/boot/bike/hike/ski room. Breakfast was good, too. The hotel restaurant was closed for dinner on the nights we were there, so we didn't get to try that.
Despite arriving late while the owner was busy with evening meals we were made to feel very welcome. Our room was lovely, bright clean and spacious. I really liked the modern Alpine decor and also our balcony which had a lovely view. After freshening up we went downstairs for dinner which was delicious and plentiful. Breskfast also very good. Sadly we were only here one night but would certainly stay again.
We where 5 days in Mairs Landgasthof and it was fantastic, very beautiful totally new room, breakfast was very good, diner was outstanding and everyone was very friendly and helpful, we will go back, that's for sure.
We had a really lovely time staying here. Everything was spotless and clean, the room was large with heated bathroom floors and a nice balcony, and the breakfast was delicious! They even helped us to dry our wet hiking clothes and boots. Excellent service. We can't wait to return!
Spent two nights in this excellent gasthause. Everything was above expectations. Claudia was the perfect host, dinner was wonderful, breakfast was delicious and room was absolutely beautiful. Sorry we couldn’t stay longer. This place deserves the highest rating. Ten is not enough
We have stayed here twice before. Our hosts Claudia and Gerhard are fantastic and can`t do enough for you. Our room was ultra clean with stunning views on our balcony over the meadows where you can hear the cow bells and look at high snow topped mountains. We can`t recommend this hotel enough and is the only place we would stay when we visit the area. Thank you for yet another wonderful stay!
We booked here for 2 nights on the way to the Dolomites. We then booked for 3 nights on our way back! The rooms are outstanding-all individually decorated in traditional but modern alpine style. We had most of our evening meals here which were also outstanding. This is all due to the amazing Claudia and Gerhardt. She has the most infectious, glorious happy personality and a vision which makes this guesthouse buzz-the feelgood factor is enormous. Gerhardt is a wonderful chef producing a small but delicious menu. This is so refreshing as it means all food is prepared daily to a very high standard. We will return
This family run hotel is beautifully located with a great mountain views in the near proximity of Zugspitze. The whole compound including the hotel itself is tastefully decorated. The rooms are very clean, spacious and equipped with a beautiful traditional local wooden furniture. The most precious jewell of this hotel are the owners Claudia and Gerhard who with their enthusiastic and warm hospitality make you feel at home right from the very moment you enter their hotel. They are great hosts and do their best to make your stay fabulous. The food they serve deserves a separate review if not a poem! Simply delicious! The dumplings, baked potatos with vegetables were a blessing. The vanilla ice cream with hot raspberry sauce was a blessing upon blessing! Thank you!
