The hotel is set away from the main road, so very quiet and its elevated position affords superb views over the meadows and onto the far mountains. We enjoyed watching the thunderstorms at night. Although no porter service, this family run hotel has friendly and almost always efficient staff. My fussy pre-teen girls' palate was catered for and deviations and amendments to the menu were no problem. The food was very good and sufficient. We paid haf-board, which was fine given the daily excursions we made and many times we made it back before 5 p.m. to enjoy snacks/tea time. My only gripe with the restaurant is that we were charged for the tap water, which comes from the ground spring on which the hotel sits. The public areas also have superb views and my daughters enjoyed lounging about in them. There is ample free parking outside, as well as a outdoor chess board with pieces and clay tennis court (word of warning, keep your top on even in sunny weather when playing tennis, due to insects attracted to sweat). Tennis rackets and balls provided. My wife and I relaxed in the spa area whilst our children enjoyed the swimming pool and garden. No Lifeguard available but none needed. The bedrooms were ample in size with very efficient bath/shower rooms and the mattresses were comfortable. The pillows did not offer me sufficient support (a typical European issue) and had we travelled by car instead of aeroplane, I would have taken my pillow from home. Scenic walks from hotel, also into town centre. Should we return to Ehrwald, will definitely stay here again.…
I've been coming to this hotel since I was a little baby. About every year or two we would come back here. I practically spend my childhood holidays here. The rooms are fantastic especially the rooms in the right wing under the roof. The village of Ehrwald is just amazing. The mountains and alms surrounding it is very nice to walk around or use for winter sports also. The restaurant, lobby and bar are just wonderful and relaxing to sit. And the hotel has amazing SPA facilities. I would recommend this hotel to any traveller!!
We stayed in this hotel for the first time for a week and all was just perfect! First, we got an upgrade to a bigger room and enjoyed the balcony and the spacious room. Second, from the breakfast to the dinner , we enjoyed all the food and got pleased by the high quality service delivered. Third, it’s close to the slopes with a ski bus next to the hotel. Finally, the spa, swimming pool and sauna and hammam are just perfect to relax after a day of skiing! Hotel to recommend, given its value for money ( only point to raise is to be careful when you order drinks as it’s quite expensive ).
Amazing Hotel with super Friendly staff And Food out of the Best books Kids enjoyed every single moment. Pool with Spa and kids play room all under one roof. Ski slopes within walking distance. A Holiday destinations Dream
We stayed at this hotel for 9 days at Christmas/New Year 17/18! It was a wonderful experience and very friendly and helpful staff. Especially Kathrin (I believe was her name) with blond hair at the front desk was excellent and helped me so much after my husband had an accident on the skislope on our first day..thanks so much!
I cannot say enough about this Hotel ...... Absolutely Amazing! comfortable warm welcome and great accommodations! 5 Course spectacular dinner and wonderful staff. This is OFF the beaten path, and they do NOT get a lot of Americans there, but the language barrier is NOT an issue. A real Treat in a amazing part of Austria. We stayed there after touring Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria. Only 40 min south across the border. ours was an apartment style room due to 5 members in our family, and most places do not take above 4 in a family, so this worked out great! A MUST!!!
Very welcoming staff, food was good and very abundant, rooms spacious and clean with terrific view. Nice lounge space and outdoor playing area for children. Staff was very helpful for advice and walks and sightseeing in the area. Overall very pleased with our stay there and we will definitely come back. There are however a few small things that prevented me from rating it 5/5, and that could easily be improved : -drink fountains for children did not include still (tap) water ... apparently in Austria all children are supposed to drink sparkling water or soft drinks. Mine don't and I had to order lots of bottled still water, which ended up to be quite expensive - swimming pool and spa area already close at 19:00. This is already rather early, and on top of it the janitor starts cleaning around 18:40, making you feel like you're in the way and chasing the children out of the water.…
We stayed at this beautiful resort July 2015... We had 3 rooms and stayed just under a week. The rooms were very clean and our waiter Joseph was exceptional who served us daily. We had a 3 week tour of Austria and Germany and all of us agreed that this was our favorite hotel with the fondest memories.
We stayed here for 6 nights, we had a fabulous stay. Great rooms, fabulous staff. This a great spot. Our rooms were spacious and well appointed for our family of 4. The pool was a great spot after a long day. There were a vast clientele, ages varied and languages from all over. The food was great, we never had any issues even with numerous family members with allergies.
If it wasn't for the details this Hotel deserved a top rating. The food is delicious, including the breakfast buffet. The rooms are fine and the wellness area is well equipped. We went out on a Friday evening and came back a little past 10. But the doors were already locked and there was no bell. When we left the key at the reception nobody told us about this policy. It took us 10 minutes to wake somebody up. During breakfast the service wasn't good. The used dishes weren't cleared from our table. Yet they startet to break up the buffet at 10 though it was said to last until half past 10.
