Stayed here a few times now. Great location. Great views from the Valley View Rooms, and does what it needs to do. In these places you never get mega luxury unless you’re paying thousands. Best hotel in the area for the money. Rooms: Basic and smallish, clean. Facilities: Excellent. Bar, hot tube(inside), steam room, sauna. Boot room Location: The best, bar 30m, super market 40m. But the best part....bus stop to ski lifts outside the front door!! Value: Good Breakfast: Good variety for continental We book it every year for a reason, don’t hesitate.

Very friendly staff and family feel hotel, comfortable beds and a good continental breakfast with fantastic views. The spa room was very relaxing after a long day on the slopes and it was close to the centre of town.

Hotel Belalp is located a short walk up the hill from the town centre, towards Vonne. The shuttle bus stop is outside the hotel, making it very easy to get to the chairlifts at Vonne or the Super Châtel lift in the village, if you don’t want to do the 5 minute walk. From the outside, the hotel is an attractive, chalet style building, with good private parking area to the rear. The hotel is run by a very nice, extremely hard working family, of three generations. Immediate impressions were how clean the hotel was. In the basement is an excellent heated boot room with ski lockers, and access out of the hotel. Also on this floor is the spa area, with a very nice jacuzzi/sauna/steam room facility, great after a days skiing. On the ground floor is the reception area, a pleasant bar and comfortable seating area around the fire and the restaurant dining room. We had taken the half board option, so ate breakfast and evening meal here. The dining room is in a recently added part of the hotel and has the most incredible panoramic glass windows around the whole room, offering spectacular views of the village and surrounding mountains. Breakfast is continental style buffet, and despite being the same every day, was extremely good, with a wide choice on offer, great coffee and fruit juices, a great way to start the day. The evening meal was chosen from a choice of two options the evening before. The family speak very little English, and as a non French speaking family, our menu selection was something of a gamble, however by chance or good fortune we were never really disappointed. Fair to say the food was sometimes prepared in a way that we weren’t expecting, but there was always plenty of it, an excellent cheese board and lovely deserts. The wine selection is also very good and priced competitively. The bedroom we booked was on the back of the hotel, with balcony overlooking the valley below, nice to have but possibly something more useful on a summer holiday. The rooms are a bit on the small side, but absolutely adequate. The beds are comfortable, plenty of storage area, TV etc. The shower room is also small but practical, warm and supplied with fresh towels daily. Wi-fi in the hotel is a bit hit and miss which may or may not be an issue for some people. The hotel has a lift to all floors. So in summary, Hotel Belalp is very well located, it is very clean, run by a very friendly family. It is well appointed with everything you could need for an action packed skiing holiday, offers excellent food and comfortable rooms and any negatives would really just be nit picking. If snow conditions are good, a holiday staying at Hotel Belalp won’t disappoint.

The Belalp is a lovely cosy little hotel with super friendly staff. Thanks to Cedric and the other staff our Christmas at the Belalp was great. The hotel may be small but that just adds to the feeling of cosyness that this hotel is so great for. The lounge/reception area is quirky and comfy and the breakfast and dinner are super. Over all I would highly recommend a stay in the Belalp especially over Christmas or New year as that's when the balcony view is perfect to enjoy the fireworks 😊 Thanks to the staff who made our Christmas so wonderful!

Wonderfully maintained with friendly staff. Good location and facilities. Road side rooms are slightly noisy when the snow ploughs are out! Excellent food if you have booked meals with the room. Excellent bar and lounge area.

I have just returned from a long weekend in Chatel staying at the wonderful Belalp Hotel. This was my third visit in 5 years and the hospitable Trincaz family continue to offer a very warm welcome. Our double room on the second floor offered fantastic valley views and although not huge had all we needed for a comfortable stay – a very comfortable double bed and a powerful shower; just what’s needed after a long day skiing. Add to that a balcony and TV and there was little left to wish for. Our party of four booked on a half board basis and all of us considered it to be good value for money. An ample breakfast of cold meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs, bread, pastries, fruit and yoghurt made for a good start to the day. Madame Trincaz will also prepare a soft boiled egg if requested. The 4 course evening meals were delicious and varied and included fish, fondue, raclette and pot-au-feu. With tasty starters and puddings plus a decent cheese selection it would be impossible to go hungry. The wine list is also very reasonably priced. The hotel location offers very good access to the slopes and the village amenities. The Super Chatel gondola is only a short walk away and for those without a car there are buses to shuttle snow seekers to other lift systems. Hospitality was also extended on our check-out day. As we weren’t flying until 9.30pm we were able to have the day on the slopes whilst storing our baggage in a secure room. We were also offered the use of the Spa facilities for a shower and change prior to leaving. I highly recommend the Belalp and will certainly be returning. As a footnote to skiers/boarders – if you need to hire equipment look no further than Richard Sports. Turn left out of the hotel front door and it is at the bottom of the road just before the junction. Claude and his team will provide a great service, expert advice, quality kit and all at very reasonable prices. When they say “bring it back if you have any issues” they really mean it.

We stayed here for a weeks skiing. The hotel is a nice family run hotel which has not a huge amount of rooms that its a good size to ensure the food is good and service attentive. We stayed half board via booking.com. Breakfast - pastries, breads, cheese, ham, yoghurt, fruit, cereal and jams / nutella was a good start to the day. There are no hot options. Dinner - really very good dinner at least 3 courses, sometimes cheese is a 4th course. The portions are good but not so huge you feel you are over eating (easy to do when skiing). worth going half board for. Wine was no too expensive (it is not included in half board) around €13 a bottle. We had a very early flight back from Geneva, breakfast is only between 8 and 9:30 and there was no offer or help for some pack up for the early start which was a little disappointing. Location - suggest you wait for the bus (on the same side as the hotel) and take it to Vonnes with your skis and it is two lifts here to either super chatel or into La Linga. This is much easier than the 300m walk into town and queuing for the gondola. For the evening this hotel is well positioned a short walk to town (less than 5 minutes even in snow). Nazca bar is just down the road into Chatel and probably the best bar for just a drink and music. Avalanche seems to have a live band a couple of times a week and also nice to go to. WiFi - the WiFi here is very poor, it will disconnect you several times a day and is incredibly slow (with an annoying relogging in) so I wouldn't bank on good wifi here.

I've just got back from skiing Chatel and stayed here for 4 nights. Room: We had a single room, a double and a triple. Firstly the single room, was ridiculously small. The double was small but adequate. The triple was an ok size and was probably the best of the three. All the bathrooms were a good size, with shampoos and fresh towels every day. Also our beds were changed and made ever day. Felt very comfortable. Food: We only had breakfast....€10 per day. Was pretty decent....pastries, crosionts, breads, jams, fruit, ham and cheese, yogurts and fruit juice. Nothing special but worth doing for €10 Location: This is the best part of the hotel. In Chatel you pretty much have to get a 4min bus journey to the lifts. However the bus stop is literally outside the hotel, so no messing around carrying your skis any where. Also it's in the village, only 80m from first bar, which is probably one of the best. Village: It's great here, quite lively, huge region to ski, only 1h40 from Geneva. Stay here again: 100%!!!!
