Piombaia Agroturismo are managed by some very nice people. The rooms are clean and spacious, the grounds are pleasant and close to downtown Montalcino and most attractions (by car), and the office is very friendly. We took advantage of the Cellar lunch and the hike...More

We drove up to Montalcino to get away for a quiet weekend, intent on hiking the trail to the abbey at Sant'Antimo. We weren't sure if we would hike both ways or have to figure out transportation back. Vittorio not only offered to drive us...More

THe average guest spends most of the peak hours of the day out and about and not in their room. I can imagine that time may be unbearable without AC if that's what you are used to. But the evenings are nice. Take a shower, turn the fan in the room on and open the windows (some of their windows have screens preventing insects from coming in) and you will be comfortable. We were. And besides, you are staying on a farm in Tuscany ... It's part of the experience.
