A friend found this place. We have never been to Tuscany before, but I think we have been spoiled and it will be difficult to find anywhere to rival this place, with the pool with stunning views, and the onsite Michelin starred restaurant - what's not to love!!

We arrived in the evening, almost dark, and found the place deserted. But they knew we were coming and had signs up pointing to "Romantico", our place for the next 4 nights. We unloaded from the car right to the porch and into our suit. We had a livingroom/diningroom/kitchen, a separate bathroom, and a separate bedroom. We settled in for... More

The chef reigns from Bologna...and anyone in the "know," knows that Bolognans have a vast knowledge of food that we can all only hope to achieve! This chef is creative, without being outlandish to the palate. Imagine a Caesar salad with lobster...heavy on the lobster...or the traditional pecorino souffle. The fish was the most delicious...being completely encased in salt, cocoa... More

My husband and I got married at Il Colombaio in May 2009, and we booked out all the apartments and stayed a week. My guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to and all commented on how we had found a pure hidden gem. 2 years later people are still talking about it. Most of the... More

We found Il Colombaio quite by accident 10 years ago and have returned almost every year since (twice, they were already fully booked). Mariva is a kind, warm, attentive hostess. (One year I was sick and she accompanied me to the local doctor.) The apartments are very clean and comfortably furnished and decorated; the pool is immaculately clean and overlooks... More

On a recommendation from a friend we booked a week stay at Il Colombaio. What a wonderful place to stay! Mariva was a great host to us. She even fed us when we arrived without having eaten lunch at 3-4pm and were starving. She went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. It is a great... More

We have stayed at this establishment every year for the past ten years, and, in 2007 went twice. During this time we have met Americans, Germans, Norwegians who do exavctly the same thing. Nuff said ?

This is our second stay with Mariva and she greeted us like long lost friends. I feel I need to update my review of last year to say that yes staying in the other, smaller rooms is much quieter as they are further away from the road so you don't hear the traffic noise. The food was just as good... More

My husband and I just got married in Casole d'Elsa and we booked all the apartments in "Il Colombaio" as well as having our reception/ dinner in the Restaurant. Everything was absolutely fabulous, the food was just fantastic and every one of our guests praised it. Mariva, the owner, dealt with all of us in a professional and yet very... More
