Great location if you’re there for pleasure, unfortunately I was there for business (shame!) The lady on reception was super friendly and helpful, the room was really nice, clean and modern. 5 out of 5 from me 👍🏻

We booked a Spring Break special in the Tannery Restaurant and Townhouse in Dungarvan which consisted of 2 dinners and 2 nights Bed and breakfast. On arrival I was met by Maire who was very welcoming and courteous. The bedroom was very comfortable and we ate in the Tannery Restaurant. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The staff in the restaurant were all brilliant and so helpful. Very enjoyable break.

Check in is at the restaurant and a member of staff escorts you across the road to the Townhouse. The room was lovely although a tiny bit on the small side. The bed was really comfortable. Breakfast is back at the restaurant. It was really tasty, freshly served with a great choice. All the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. It was just a bit strange having to go to another building for breakfast. However I would recommend a stay here to other people.

Thankfully we had a quiet upstairs room, as requested. Unfortunately room 15 is next to the laundry room which was noisy and the smell of detergent was strong outside our door. The bedroom was spotlessly clean, which made up for the coffee sachets and teabags on offer. For a cookery school I would have hoped for better coffee and herbs tea options. It was refreshing though that fresh milk and a small fridge was in our room. The young woman who served breakfast was very accommodating when I said that the menu didn’t offer a choice for me. And very professionally arranged that a fruit salad was made.

We stayed 1 night in a double room on a BnB basis at 170eur. The room was very nice, clean and warm on a quiet cul-de-sac. The carpet would do with a clean but everything else was spotless and the bed was comfy. We had a great sleep! The following day we had breakfast in the Tannery Restaurant which is also connected with the Tannery Cooking School. Unfortunately, it was disappointing! There were no options offered for people with dietary requirements or food intolerances. I can't have lactose and it was a problem – every dish on the breakfast menu contains lactose. The manager was puzzled about what to offer me and in the end, I got a slice of dry bread with unseasoned mashed avocado and a few cherry tomatoes on it plus a tiny leaf of fried kale. I had to ask again for a poached egg. It was very sad and I felt horrible. My husband can eat everything so he had the full shebang: croissant, yoghurt with compote, and Irish breakfast. He said the croissant and compote were lovely but the bacon was very hard and the fried egg overcooked. At least I enjoyed my green tea (teapots would do with a good dishwasher clean though, had old tea residue all around) and orange juice. We also had to listen to the manager attack another customer about some unpaid bill. Bad vibes. Very disappointing at €170. Will not return.

Somehow it’s taken us 17 years to get back to The Tannery despite reading all Paul’s musings in the Irish Times and buying some of his books / loaning from the local library. We did dinner, townhouse and breakfast the next morning back in the restaurant. Everything was faultless with superb food and service and a lovely pint nearby on the Saturday evening in The Moorings. Beaches to the west and east of Dungarvan on Sunday morning finished off a great weekend.

My boyfriend and I got a great deal for Paddy's Night this year, really good value for dinner, b&b! We arrived down at about 3pm and the staff were so welcoming and helpful, with tips on the local pubs and the area. A really lovely lady (didnt catch her name, blonde hair, really smiley) showed us to the townhouse and to our room. The room was lovely, very old fashioned with the old windows yet modern. A little bottle of milk was left in our fridge to make tea which was a nice thought. We then went for a pre dinner drink in 'the local' recommendation by that lovely and it was very busy and we even sat outside in the middle of March and was fine as they had heaters. We then had dinner booked for 7:45pm and the restaurant is lovely inside. The service was excellent throughout the night (coming from a hospitality experience) I thought the staff were lovely and very helpful with explaining dishes. The food & wine were 10/10. Breakfast was lovely the next morning, very relaxed just what you need and again service was so friendly. We met that lovely lady on checkout, she asked us how we got on and really seemed like she cared about our stay! She gave us a tip to go for a walk on the greenway and buy a cheeky scone since it was a long weekend. Would definitely recommend coming to the tannery for food and accommodation!

The Tannery Dungarvan was incredible from start to finish. The rooms were so clean and bright. The food was out of this world they even organised a special menu for me personally as I cannot eat loads of foods. Nothing was any trouble for the staff a huge big thanks. The foods from star to finish all fresh delicious breakfast another foodie delight. The wine list exceptional. And I will definitively return. Thank you so much to all the staff the chefs and a huge big thanks to Valerie all the front of the house and table staff.
