We regularly stay at this hotel and on this occasion, although by far not normal, we decided to give it a go. No regrets at all!
A very warm welcome and as always, a good and spacious room Dinner and also breakfast would be served in the room as the restaurant is closed because of government anti-corona measures. We selected the dish we wanted and gave the preferred time. Timing was perfect and the food was just lovely. Service, at a distance, was very good.
Breakfast was a similar story. We had to fill out a small list of items that we wanted and give the preferred time.
As we were on a time difference, we opted for 10.00am - what a luxury! And yes, a knock on the door at 10.00am and it was exactly what we had asked for. THe second morning it was even better with a small tray with cooked items, such as sausages, bacon and tomatoes; what a nice surprise.
Obviously, the few rooms will not keep the hotel afloat and therefore, we hope that the current restrictions can be lifted soon. In the meantime, we had a very good time and enjoyed our food (in our room!) !
We will be back as soon as we can again.

We booked a night in the Central Park Family Suite. It’s quite over the top and therefore a huge hit with the kids. They especially loved the bubble bath. It was nice to have an actual table with chairs we could eat at. Overall, the suite is kind of dated. Marks of wear and tear. But a fun experience for a night. Beware: the shower/bath area has no door. It’s open plan.

Since this hotel opened two years ago we have stayed several leisure week-ends here, and have one booked for the near future. This property is perfect on every account... cosy rooms, excellent food, extremely friendly and professional overall service level.
All (large) rooms have jetted tubs, most have balconies. The decor is somewhat over the top, but gives you an instant homecoming feeling when stepping through the door.
Last couple of years the van der Valk family has invested in new luxura hotels, some even with more facilities than this, but with the overall experience Harderwijk offers this is definately the diamond on the vdValk crown. Kudos for making us feel welcome time and time again.

I spent amazing week in this hotel. Rooms are very big and comfortable-big beds, lots of free space, clean bathroom with shower and a huge bathtube with bubbles :) The restaurant is also amazing- everything fresh and well prepared. The staff is so nice and helpful. Rooms for meetings and service is perfect. This hotel is not only a best way for typical holiday staying but also for all kinds of meeting.

This Hotel is one of our favorites. Well positioned near the highways, however at the same token in the middle of the woods and nearby all kind of attractions. Rooms are large and well equipped. The ambiance in the lounge, on the terraces, in the restaurant, in the lobby is all just perfect. Bikes are for rent, which in this ares is a pleasure to use them; The parking is a large and even an underground parking is available for free. The food is diverse and good. You are more or less in the middle of one of the nicest parts of the Netherlands when so many interesting places to visit.
Also remarkable are the many Michelin Star restaurants in Harderwijk.itself.
One remark from my wife, the lighting in the bathroom is poor, which, unfortunately, is the case in many Van der Valk hotels, even those which just have been opened.

The hotel is fine, but the attitude to a last minute cancellation due to colleagues illness was disappointing. If you need flexibility, look elsewhere. My schedule for the coming year will now involve 8-10 room stays somewhere else!

Found this hotel very cheaply at a holiday auction website.
I think it's the only hotel in Holland with jacuzzis in all rooms.
These are big and all with balcony, except the ones at begining and end (201,202, 221, 222,.etc.). Nice decoration, but sober furniture and very bad lighting in whole room. Hardly possible to work at desk with that bad light. Big TV (32 inch) with lots of channels, incl,. BBC1 and 2, but no film channel. At eye level so one can sit close to it.
The jacuzzi can be heard in room below but not very disturbing.
Excellent sound-isolation. No noises from other rooms except that doors close with a bang as nobody bothers to think about their neighbours (the Dutch are very selfish).
Gigantic breakfast buffet, biggest I saw in Holland, from 7 till 10.30.
Staff behaves quite business-like, not terribly friendly but are efficient and a TV-problem was fixed quickly.
Hotel can be reached by bus 1 from station, to stop called Tinnegieter, 10 minutes walk from there , Deventerweg, than 2 bridges, then at your left. Ask for a room with an uneven number to be at forest-side (I had 219, the best on that floor) but you will hear the traffic noise at balcny (not in room). I think on 3rd floor you don't hear any jacuzzi noise. Balcony not private at all. You can see all neighbours (no high separation).
Also nice but not very powerful rainshower in bathroom and toilet (not very private).
Empty minibar, so space for own things. Softdrinks in a machine on corridor (2.50 Euro).
Wonderful soft bed, 2 next to one another but bit small bed with thin duvet. No pillow-menu but pillows were OK.
Free internet in lobby but it didn't work.
Thanks to the very low price I paid and the jacuzzi, it was a great night.
Food is OK, nothing really special. No cocktails in bar. 13,50 Euro for a bottle of simple house-wine. In nice weather one can eat outside, also breakfast.

For a luxery mum-and-daughter weekend we bought a package and stayed 3 nights and payed for 2 in the month of August 2011. We were impressed by the very friendly and attentive service by the staff. The breakfast buffet was awesome. Even on mondaymorning when there were few people compered to the weekend the choise was just as great! We had dinner one time. It was good quality compared to the price. The spacious rooms have very comfortable beds with soft sheets. The bathroom is equiped with a large wirlpool bath (which makes a lot of noise when in use) and a double shower, luxury washbasin and toilet. There is a nice terrace next to the restaurant to sit outside with forest view. On Sunday we went to luxury sauna Veluwse Bron in Emst which we can also very much recommend.
