Detailed Reviews
Nice and affordable hotel. Super clean and friendly staff. Location is superb very close to the restaurants and stores. And the breakfast was delightful. Highly recommended. We will stay here again if we go back in harderwijk.

You don't get more central than this. Some rooms view the central square, but you can get a more "quiet" room fronting the back (which is not a great view, but that's up to you to decide).
For a three star I think we got a lot for the money. A spacious and clean room, nice bathroom, lots of channels (many languages) on the TV.
I also found the service from the reception very good and friendly.
Beware if you've got a hard time walking narrow and steep stairs. Elderly people might find this both tedious and hard, if you're on the top floors. I didn't see any elevators.... but on the other hand didn't look for them.
Not of importance on this stay, but there's no A/C. But every (?) room has a fan. At least something if there's a heatwave.
Breakfast wasn't included. We had it anyway (around 9 Euro), which wasn't really the fanciest breakfast I've seen. I also missed having a cappucino on the "menu".

+ very clean, calm, comfortable beds, helpful people at the reception (and before we came on email/phone), very central, uncomplicated (keys, check-out, ...), ecological (don‘t change the towels automatically every day: bravo!), good working wifi, breakfast was good for the price
- the babybed we asked for was on the bill, but not in the room (after asking again, they brought it), high season: not very cheap (but okay), steep stairs (for the kids), not a lot of space to put the clothes, the coffee at the breakfast is more like hot and dark water

+1
This hotel is right on the city center square. Quaint, close to everything, and our room was very quiet. Parking is the equivalent of a US block away and is affordable, convenient, very safe, clean, and secure. Beds are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Bathroom is small but functional.

Everything in this hotel is really lovely! Location is right in the center of the town!
Breakfast was decent. Anyway, one can easily grab a bite from nearby bakeshops, cafe or restaurants. The lady at the restaurant allowed me to take some breakfast even if the breakfast time was over! Great Dutch hospitality!
I find my room at the attic so cute! i had a good view of the plaza!
Expect it will be noisy due to the bars below the hotel. Well, I don't mind at all! As though the vibrant atmosphere in the plaza invited me to go down and join the fun. I am in holidays after all!

This hotel sits in a pedestrian plaza surrounded by stores, nice restaurants and a 3 minute walk to the lake. The lake and farmland at Harderwijk is a beautiful example of reclaimed land since 0ver 25% of the country is below sea level. This lake was reclaimed from the sea and is now a "Sweet Water" lake and a beautiful beach.
The hotel is no great for the disabled but if you are looking for great quaint hotel in this city, you have found it. A short of stairs to the room that are equipped with TV, Small Fridge, Hot Water Kettle, and good beds. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The hotel also offers (for about 8 Euro) a continental breakfast in the restaurant next door. While not huge, the breakfast is nice and is very Dutch. Enjoy the dutch teas they have!
The rooms are quiet and in winter have good radiator heat in the room and bathroom. Towels, shampoo, soap, and a daily mint are on the bed.
Be aware that most stores in Harderwijk close about 6.00pm. But nicer restaurants are open to about 10.00pm This pedestrian plaza makes a super place to sit and relax.

We decided to overnight in the delightful town of Harderwijk having flown into Holland earlier that day. Choosing the Hotel Marktzicht because of its central location was inspirational as the hotel was not only ideally located for exploring the town, and only a few minutes walk to the Dolphinarium, but it was also a delightful hotel in its own right. The room was more than adequate in terms of size - a family room not being available an extra bed had been put into or room and there was still plenty of space. The check in was simple and the staff could not have been more friendly. We asked about places to eat and were guided to the hotels own restaurant located around the corner from the entrance. The food was excellent and very well priced. The wine list was also very good - something not always found in smaller hotels. Breakfast was included in the price and was enjoyed with equal relish after a comfortable nights sleep. I would heartily recommend this central hotel for any visitor to the town. and we will certainly be back.

This hotel is great! My room was spacious, clean, as was the bathroom. The bed was super comfortable, the staff were helpful and friendly, and it's right on the square near all the amenities. I would highly recommend it.

If you are offered room 324 in this hotel. Think before you accept this room. Room very small too hot in Summer cannot look out of window. Could have been cleaner. Evening meal not great breakfast sparce. We were on cycling tour holiday travelling to 7 hotels on route. This hotel was the worst we visited. Was offered another room after we had complained but had unpacked and just wanted to crash out after 70 kilometre bike ride.do not think room should be offered to anyone.
