Stayed here over New Year an was really pleased with it, friendly people and high quality rooms and a great breakfast. The room was really quiet with the secondary glazing and a great view across the river drew end.

We come for our wedding anniversary every year and are never disappointed. The rooms are lovely and there is nothing nicer than after a lovely meal in the restaurant having coffee in the lounge with the roaring fire. The owners and staff always make you feel welcome.

Visited Hodgkinsons again some 40 years after my first visit. Together with friends we enjoyed the very tasty festive menu. The game pasty starter was delicious. Shame we were were the only people in which perhaps made it a bit lacking in atmosphere, but that was no one's fault! we will be back. The service was friendly and efficient -...

We had a beautiful three course meal at Hodgkinson's last night. The meal was great and the staff very friendly and helpful, the hotel itself is very interesting (ask to see the cave). We will go back. Paul and Sylvi, Buxton.

Its hard to find a good and interesting mid range hotel in Derbyshire. Hodgkinsons is certainly an interesting find with an antique but comfortable feel. Our room was spacious and welcoming and the staff were very friendly and work hard to make the place a success. Matlock and Matlock Bath are rather odd places so you probably need to wonder...

This delightful Victorian Hotel was a pleasure to stay in. Traditionally furnished in Victorian style but with all the modern amenities of today's era it made our weekend in Matlock Bath very memorable for all the right reasons. We ate in the Hotel restaurant on the Friday night. We had a great starter and brilliant main course each. The service...

This Grade 11 listed building shines behind a somewhat different exterior, it was like walking through the wardrobe into Narnia !! Quirky, charming and warm, I could ramble on forever. What a joy to visit. Hosts and staff were attentive, informative and most of all friendly. Food was super, both dinner and breakfast. Dinner menu perused whilst having drinks in...
