The perfect experience to immerse yourself in the Amazon. The lodge is not 5 star, but that would be out of place in this environment. The lodge is eco-tourism at its finest. you enter, you observe and you leave, without any impact on the nature. Don't go here if you want a 5 star luxury experience. Go here to experience...

A perfect experience in the Amazon. The naturalist (Thamara) was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The local guides were nothing short of amazing with their ability to spot animals, and inspiring in their love for their work. The lodge itself is a beautiful floating building in a bend in the river with amazing views. All kinds of wildlife from monkeys to...

Read the reviews here and set your expectations accordingly! This was my first visit to the Amazonas and for me it was thrilling! I love nature, am curious of flora, fauna, people, culture and food. Mosquitos normally don't bother me. I enjoy heat and am used to getting soaked, having trekked in the Swedish wilderness and in other places in...

The second half of our holiday we stayed at Uakari - magnificent place to stay. The rooms are basic with eco system - river water to wash in etc; but was just wonderful. The sounds of the animals, birds etc is mesmerising. Especially when resting in the hammocks on the balconies! we saw caimans, dophins swimming past! The guides are...

I loved our stay here so much that I cried on departure, in fear of the future of this amazing reserve. Money, and a lot of it, is needed to keep this pristine part of the Amazon protected. If you are lucky enough to stay here, you truly help preserve the existence of this lodge and the livelihoods of the...

Originally it was a ecotourist area. Basically, this resort is now catering fly fishers after a new specimen of fish on a fly--arapaima. (All catch and release) I landed a 75pound one! A very responsible way for the area native tribe to provide jobs and income for their people. The eco-biologist were fascinating. Nightly, they would give presentations about their...

I am an avid and wildlife traveler with experience guiding in rainforests of Costa Rica and Peru and I was quite disappointed with my stay here. We booked to stay for a full week because I know that it takes time to observe wildlife in the rainforest. Uacari is located in a unique type of forest habitat called varzea, an...

Professional, well organised Amazon experience! Staff were sensitive to the environment, displayed great knowledge of the area and kept us busy with an excellent range of activities with their eagle eyes helping us to spot the elusive wildlife. Accomodation, though simple was kept clean and tidy and food was outstanding, catering to all needs. Highly recommend staying here for a...

This is the best place you can stay to get a real taste of the Amazon in all it's glory! But many of the people staying here were disappointed that they didn't see a Jaguar. Wildlife spotting is hard here in the Amazon compared to the Pantanal - the rainforest is so thick. So make sure you know what sort...
