We came here for three nights prior to a week in the Galápagos. Had we known what a fabulous relaxing and welcoming place it is, we would probably have reversed our itinerary and come here to relax after the Galápagos, which is a busy busy trip. The Hacienda was built about 1691 and has a fascinating history as it has...

Our second visit but not our last. We can see why some might be put off by the room rates but with the diversity of experiences, the scenery, history and the horses it becomes a trip well worth the price. Adding to the value is that a portion of each bill is reserved to support the condor and spectacled bear...

This place is made for people who want to go somewhere to relax. If you have the expectation of a commercial hotel please don't go.... You need to be ready to meet lots of amazing people (guests, family & staff) and to experience a family home not an impersonal hotel. The staff are all lovely and go out of their...

Epitomizes South American 'colonial' charm...absolutely beautiful and a MUST for travelers to Ecuador. And the Andean foothills are beautiful. Also...Zuleta is fostering the dwindling population of Condors; one is able to see them in their refuge on the ranch. But the best part? The food. Hands down. The best food I have ever eaten, and I've traveled far & wide....

The property itself is very beautiful and charming with an interesting history. The food they serve at the hacienda was wonderful. Vegetables from their own organic garden is quite a treat. The local Ecuadorean food is sensational. It's not a touristy place since local ecuadoreans go to zuleta as well for weekends so one can imagine what an authentic experience...

Dear Guest , First of all I want to excuse our selves for this noise problem, we decided to take the carpet out in that area, because it was already to old , and the area had an impression that it was dirty, and when we saw how beautiful the wooden floor was, we said we will leave it like...

We stayed for two nights in the Hacienda. The quietness and the calm of the place were wonderful. We had a nice room where a fireplace was burning when we arrived. You had to communicate with a card if you liked more wood to be added to the stove. At the turndown service they were putting warm water bottles in...

This old ranch is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty and the friendly character of the people of Ecuador. It is owned and run by the Plaza family, whose ancestors include two Ecuadorian Presidents. One can ride horses here, see condor habitats, walk the many trails, enjoy the huge library with many old books in Spanish...

We spent three nights at Hacienda Zuleta. The ranch offers very friendly, helpful staff, comfortable accommodations, good food, and a wide variety of activities. We initially picked Zuleta because we wanted to go to the craft market in Otavalo. But, we quickly discovered that Zuleta deserves to be a destination in its own right. The condor preservation project was fascinating....

What a beautiful setting in the Andean Highlands. A working farm, condor habitat, organic garden, and creamery with great walks. The staff was wonderful. Fernando, the general mgr. is a delight. The food is great, as well. All in all, an amazing place to visit for a few days.
