We were so excited to go to this place and were disappointed that it didn't work out. When we arrived, the place looks like it has a lot of potential. It is gated and the care takers are very nice and friendly. We also met the owner and she was very friendly and welcoming, but she left after we checked...

Beautiful beach, remarkable sunset, just few people a day on the beach. At La meson del Quijote facilities are nice, close to the beach and staff work hard to please the guests, but breakfast is very poor, coffee is terrible, except if you are asking... If hotel has more than few guests suggest to choose another place for dinner and...

The rooms in the stand-alone bungalows were pretty and spacious, and clean. Service was awful: you can't do anything without explicit permission from the owners/hostess. The included breakfast was next to nothing. The setting is beautiful, including the access to the beach... until you get stung by a manta, but i guess this could happen anywhere? Food was way overpriced...

I stayed for a few nights with some friends the first week of January 2015 and ended up leaving early. Their kitchen is small and not well provided, food is overpriced and not tasty (we ended up eating at PataconPisao and Pizzarte both excellent!). Their breakfasts are sad to say the least (frozen bread, some egg, coffe and juice, day...

The cabanas, made of bamboo with thatched roofs reflected natural materials of Ecuador. Vey peaceful and relaxing setting with wonderful dining. Had a good time walking on the beach, going whale watching and sitting on patio reading a book. Excellent chef prepares Ecuadorian dishes. Staff is very friendly.

Pool was full of mold, green algae, and mosquitos. No one in their right mind would swim in it. Hosteleria was empty. We were the only guests. Despite that, none of our requests were met--even the most basic ones for extra pillows or towels. Our tiny, cramped Dulcinea room was FULL of bugs including a major ant infestation, large bugs...

“Chose a Dulcinea Cabana, very nice and less expensive. For the moment avoid the Sancho Cabana if you want intimacy because there is virtually no acoustic isolation from your neighbor room. This should be corrected soon.”
