We extended our stay here since the hotel was so nice. Santiago was really helpful with information about the area, speaking very good English. The bathroom and floors were cleaned every day and the sheets were replaced every couple of days. There is a fridge for communal use and free drinking water. The bolones for breakfast were the best I've...

The lady that received us was very friendly. Me and my friends have been travelling around Ecuador for several weeks and when we visited Puerto Lopez, we found this good deal! Santiago and Marcia are very cool people, they helped us with a lot of useful information, where to go and of course, what to eat! They took us for...

My fiancé and I are currently staying at Piedra Del Mar in Puerto Lopez. Santiago - the owner - is really helpful and goes out of his way to help guests. Rooms have airconditioning, TVs, wifi and hot showers. There are also rooms with kitchens for long term stays. The pool is clean and exactly what you need in summer....

The staff is very friendly. The guy who runs the place is super helpful. It's a block from the beach, cheap breakfast, pool. Very relaxed atmosphere. Definitely not a party hostel. No drinking in the hostel. The rooms are clean, not noisy at all, and they have someone watching during the night so it's very safe. They also have a...

We stayed for three nights and were very happy with the assistance of the proprietor. However there were most definitely some plumbing/water issues that need addressing and therefore feel we did not have good value for what we paid via Airbnb. There had also clearly had some sort of leak in the bathroom as the ceiling had mould on it....

We stayed in Puerto Lopez for three nights and were completely satisfied with Hotel Piedra del Mar. The room was cleaned daily, a good breakfast was included, and in the common areas there's a small pool, hammocks, and a fridge with cold beverages (water is free). We also booked a very good day trip to Isla de la Plata directly...

More a hotel than a hostel this place offers almost all you need. Clean and spacious rooms, decent breakfast, tours and very helpful and pleasant staff. The shower had really hot water too. Despite being close to restaurants and shops the noise-level at night was low. The only things that could be improved are lockers in the room and a...

The "pool" is a joke: Small, dirty and to much chlor inside.WiFi does not work propperly. This is a 1 star hostel maximum-really cant explain the good...

The prices do not include taxes. A room for 3 on the website says it costs $66, but we ended up paying $80. This is because their price doesn't account for taxes unlike most other hostels I've stayed at. They advertise hot water, but our shower water was freezing. We talked to a worker who said there was an electrical...

“The top floor room is very quiet and livable. It has a skylight so it has great lighting and warm beds at night. Also a view to the ocean from the patio! The hotel is also nice and quiet because it is just off the main boardwalk so it escapes the noise of the cabanas!”
