BEFORE HEADING TO THE EAST SIDE OF ZANZIBAR GET CASH! There is no ATM on this side of the island and you have to go back towards Stone Town to get cash. The hotel we stayed at let us get a tab which we payed...More
The booking was last minute, budget but great value for 7 nights. We got a "banda", which is a bungalow located with some privacy near the beach (so nice to sleep to the sound of the ocean). The room was overall clean, but there are...More
This is my favorite place in the world! I've been to Zanzibar about 5 different times and I keep coming back here! What most people don't know is that it's one of the few locally owned and operated places in the area! It's quaint, quiet...More
It was a last minute booking and very much worth it. Even if the address is Jambiani, it is a good walking distance from Paje (good news for kite surfers). Jamiani village is more then 1 hour walk on the beach or you can borrow...More

If you head down to the beach and turn to the right, you will see a long, high wooden wharf with huts right at the end. About 10 minutes walk. One of those huts is a bar, but the other is devoted to water activities such as diving, windsurfing, snorkeling etc. It wasn't too specific on scuba diving, but that's the closet place I saw without having to drive too far.
