Booked this Inn2 because I couldn’t see any commitments on Sipadan Inn 3 or 1. It was okay for overnight. The first time I stayed there, it was a normal small room with window facing the street. However, when I checked in again a week later I got a room in the middle without window, even though I booked the same queen room. The location is not great, Inn 3 and 1 are at better spots in the small seafront town, easier to reach than Inn 2. Among the three, Inn 3 is the newest and, after a visit, I noticed it has better rooms with better facilities. Had WiFi in room at Inn 2, the bed was very basic and sheets not crispy clean, the shower was okay as well as the air conditioning. Semporna is a tiny town with most places within walking distance, though the narrow, car-lined streets are not that clean or tidy to walk through, especially if you carry luggage. From what I heard from other travelers, very basic facilities wherever you stay, so lower your expectations then probably all good.

Semporna is a town and not a city. Semporna is famous and known in the global tourist map due to the popularity of Sipadan Island for diving which is one if the top 10 diving sites in the world. Tourists coming from overseas have to pass through Semporna Jetty to go to the islands.

Finding a good hotel in Semporna is difficult as most hotels are below 3-Star categories but a heaven for back packers and budget travellers. There is no international class hotels of 4&5-Star category. However, there are numerous hotels of other categories and home stays and hotels are nirmally fully booked.

Sipadan Inn 2 is one of those new hotels located near the floating restaurant. It is located right in the centre of many restaurants. The room is small about 15 sqm in size, reminds me of hotels in Tokyo and Paris. The room is very compact and difficult to open a large size luggage but everythingekse is quite complete. The view to Semporna City and the floating restaurant is indeed breathtaking with small corridor to view.

The hotel does not serve breakfast but has arrangement with a restaurant nearby to serve the guests with pre-selected menus. The room is comfortable, shower & toilet worked well but cannot avoid feeling a bit cramped. There is TV, Air-cond., place to hang your clothes. There is also an elevator. The lobby is small but there are seats and just outside the door there are plenty if seats from cafe operators.

Highly recommended for short stay or transit passengers and fir budget travellers it could be a place made from heaven. Hotels are basically cheap in Semporna and if you use USD it is dirt cheap and almost anyone from US could afford to stay in Semporna. As a trend, 80% of the tourists in Semporna are Chinese as there are 80 direct flights from China.

As a whole Sipadan Inn 2 is quite a good and comfortable hotel to stay and as a rating I would give 7.5 out of 10 but assessment is a subjective matter.

We stayed there for three nights in a room facing the sea. The scenery gets pretty serene in the evening when the sun sets, with the dragon inn as backdrop.

This place is basic - warm shower, free wifi, friendly staff, clean and comfy bed. (Balcony floor may gets a bit sticky but this is what I always experience at beach resort. It is acceptable for me)

There was no breakfast provided but I love exploring the local coffee shops nearby and be soaked in the morning hustles and bustles among the locals. If you are always rushing out to dive spots in the morning, you may want to stock up some snacks from the convenience stall next to the inn.

You will be surrounded by seafood restaurants so no worries about the food situation. After dinner, we like to sit by the seaside and chat over a few beers while the restaurants are closing. Thereafter you can just walk back to your room (drunk or sober).

There is a guardian 8-10mins walk away so you can get the essentials if you are missing anything.

Given its location and amenities, it is a value for money place to stay.

We get a spacious room, the room is clean. After we woke up on the next day, we found that there's some blood on the bed and we felt so itchy. Our friend request to change their room due to some reason but the staff refused as all room was occupied.

We didn't ask for room transfer, instead we only ask the staff to change the bed sheet, but sadly, they didnt changed it, until the day that we checked out. We have showed the photo of bed bugs to the staff, but we still not getting new bed sheet. We stay for three nights, that was definitely nightmare.

We went back to our home now and there are red dots all over our body, we went to hospital, the doctors said the flea or bed bugs had laid eggs on our skin. Now we have to take medicine and apply medicine lotion.

I know this is a budget hotel, but this is not right. I would never stay with them again. This is our nightmare.

Use this hotell as your first choice. Cheaper and better than compared to other options in citys like Kota Kinabalo. We got this recommended and was pleased. No need to look for other better Places. Concider stay here for daytrips.

I spend 1 night in semporna in-transit to Mabul Island. I booked the surprior room in Sipadan Inn and find it surprisingly nice. Given the other comments I have read about the hotel.

The air con and hot water shower works perfectly. If only they could switch on the air con before my arrival, that would be perfect.

The balcony is directly facing the sea and the morning view is unbeatable. The room is small but had a good night sleep.

One thing is, bring your own amenities. There is no toothbrush or other things provided.

Also, the towels need to be replaced, very old and worn out already.

This hotel could've been so nice... but unfortunately 1. It stinks really badly - there is a wet market around the corner and all refuse and rotten fish are being washed up towards the hotel. Didn't notice it on the ground floor, but it's very bad in the room. 2. It's really, really noisy. There are restaurants under the hotel at the waterfront (which is great for meals), but first they were packing up everything until 1 am, banging metal tables, laughing, shouting etc., and then the boats started at 5.30 am. We were so tired the next day, it was not good. We stayed a single night and then ran away to Seafest hotel - it's more removed from the town centre (just 10 minutes walk!), but it's quiet and clean, costs just a little more AND they include breakfast. Maybe the rooms that face the street are quieter and less smelly.

We booked family room for 2 nights which consists of 1 Queen and 1 Single.
Location - very close to jetty, restaurant and supermarket
But 1 thing need to prepared is cash, else credit card payment additional 5%. Pay when you check in plus RM50 refundable deposit. You will be given 1 bag which consists of 1 air con and 1 TV remote control.
The room is clean and equips with mineral water, boiler, hair dryer, toiletries and coffee making facility. free WIFI in the room as well. Flat screen TV with SD card and USB slot, enable us to view our photos end of the day.
No lift because it's 2 storey shop bouses.
Overall, we were quite satisfy with Sipadan Inn 2. We will choose Sipadan Inn 2 again.

It's a pretty decent hotel for this town - quite new, clean, the room is of a better standard than you might expect and has everything you need, plus it is near to restaurants on the jetty.
Be aware the hotel doesn't offer breakfast, so if you don't fancy the "local" options in the morning, you can stock up on supplies at the supermarket nearby.

A rather normal hotel with above average rates. The location is convenient for nearby food, Giant for groceries, Watsons/Guardian beauty stores and pharmacy. It is also a 5 minute walk to the public jetty.

The room is rather basic and small. There is no elevator so lugging your dive gear or heavy luggage is a must unless you’re in the ground floor rooms.

Bathroom water pressure was good but the hotel needs a refurb. The bathroom was wet and not very clean. Sheets were thin and stained. Air conditioning was ok.

We will look for other alternatives in future. It used to be good when new but it’s now not worth it given the high price and old facilities.
