At 7pm check, we checked in to the Dragon Inn Floting Inn,Semporna, and chose an up-grade to larger Suite.. The end of pier was suggested being the "quietest". Cost quoted 780 Ringitts. But disconted to 640 Ringitts. I assumed the lovely Heritage room, spacious, clean, glowing wood, would be matched with a suitable bath room. No. A] Ony a dribble from the tap. B] No working shower...at all. C] Toilet flushed..once. D] Music from the Night market across a narrow waterway, meant noise didnt stop till 1am. E] At 7a.m. the noise of zooing outbards of many motor boats, was our , wake up call. I requested a significant discount for the sleepless night and inconvenience. Our jouney from Australia was 28 hours. Only 10% was offered. I do not recoomend this property for the above reasons. Positive aspect. At 8.30 pm Reception did call the Plumber. What in the world could he accomplish ? An alternative room was offered for use for a shower and toilet, grossly inconvenient at 4 a.m. when required. Breakfast included was a bowl of noodle/ or was it rice. At this price range? It did not have any standard for tourist accommadation.…

Well it’s very deceptive. Beautiful historic site. The lady who checked is in was so so sweet. But whoever owns it needs to do major maintenance - we stated in VIP 2 room toilet worked bit sink and shower siding. No wifi and very very noisy. But beds clean pillows and bed comfortable and air conditioner worked. So much promise. But so expensive most expensive - for poor amenities

Please do not get cheated and pay for the entrance fees. The so call aquarium is full of rubbish n no rare giant fish as mentioned! Worst maintenance. Some part of the aquarium is no fish at all! I can’t believe it! Still dare to charge per head to go in!

Comfortable stay and feel like in middle of the ocean. U can hear the water waving. The jetty for a boat before departing for island hoping. The beautiful scenery and clear water make your eyes can forget the view

Note: We went to Semporna and saw this place and the surroundings with our own eyes. We did NOT sleep here. I will ONLY speak about what I experienced: - actual place not even as good as the pictures. - location right next to the jetty. Water smells like sewage. Boats are coming in and out all day RIGHT next to this place. Lots of trash floating around. - this place looks so so old and run down. I'm SO glad we decided not to stay here. It looks more brown colored than red. - It's technically a "water house" but I wouldn't swim near this thing!

Kareoke until midnight . So dont bother trying to get to bed early ...... old rooms with terrible showers. rubbish in the water really tops it off. Not just a little either. Its revaulting. Wont be back

We came in as a walk-in-client - staff was very professional... they have to be, as them majority clients come from China ! rooms special, but 30 years old, very poor shower, internet was ok- not specially good ! Dark rooms, no windows, but you are leaving anyway early and so sleeping was quiet ! easy access, parking we had to find by ourselves, but car-parking in Semporna is no issue anyways... breakfast you have to pay in them restaurant, its Muslim breakfast, so as a western, do not expect something great - its sufficient, ... so ok... the hotel in general got into his years, need renovations and catch up....

I found Holiday Inn adorable!!! It's absolutely an unconventional resort, because it's exactly above the water. It's a kind of little town connected by boardwalks. There's a restaurant (cheap but nothing special), some shops and a very nice bar, with live music in the evening (we used to get a beer at the sunset after a long sunny day). Rooms are spacious, clean and made of wood! All the tours on the surrounding Islands leave from Holiday Inn, so the position is absolutely perfect!

Great location for price we paid. Super old hotel with ok maintenance. Do expect some very noisy karaoke during night time and busy jetty early in the morning with boats in and out. Some garbage floating around with smelly air lingering.
