There are good and Not so good Impression from this hotel … Good….the view, the Pool with the outstanding infinity view , the very nice rooms… Negative….a limited selection for Breakfast with nearly no chance to modify. Dinner for vegetarian is a Desaster. The size of the portions there is incredible small for the Price. I would say double of what you pay elsewhere. As we claimed this we have been told that this is a decision of the managment. By the way,we stayed there one week and never saw anybody from managment. So for Food and managment i would only give a 2 star Rating. The facilities are 5 Star. As soon as there will be more competition i would recommend not to go there
My wife and I could not possibly dream up a more perfect honeymoon than our 7-day trip to Kura. It lived up to and exceeded all expectations on every level. I'll break up my detailed review into certain categories below: The Property: There are so many amazing things about Kura, but I should first highlight the beauty of the property itself. It is STUNNING. We could tell that every single thing was built with thought and careful intention. The looks on people's faces (including our own) when they first walk up the stairs to see the view for the first time say it all. We spent the majority of our time in the main infinity pool area because of the amazing view and the infinity pool. The main restaurant is right there as well, and the bar. I've traveled around to over 30 countries, and the open-air 360 view of the ocean right in front and the mountainous jungle behind is unrivaled anywhere in the world. The views from the rooms and spa are just as great. There are only 8 rooms total on the property so it always feels private. We even had the place basically to ourselves for several days as folks went out for excursions, which was just an added bonus. One additional part we really loved is that Kura organizes short on-site events and activities, such as ceviche class, mask painting, and tamale class. We really enjoyed the opportunity to learn about the local culture and took some of our new knowledge to use at home. The Staff: I should next highlight the 5-star service provided by all the staff. We left having felt like we made new friends with everyone we met over the course of the week. They are all so friendly and such genuine people, and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy at all times. We don't want to leave anyone out, but because we interacted the most with them, a special shout out to Adrian (concierge) and Jairo (service), and of course to the rest of the entire Kura staff. You are all part of what makes Kura so special, and the reason why we will be back in the future. The Food: We really enjoyed trying all of the local Costa Rican dishes, especially ceviche and chifrijo! All of the food is delicious, and my wife has celiac which the kitchen was able to accommodate easily. She never felt limited on options. We also loved the fresh fruit and warm bread with breakfast, and all of the dinner specials. You will definitely never go hungry here. They also organized a private romantic dinner for one of our nights paired with wines, which we very much enjoyed. The drink menu is creative and has something for everyone. I definitely made my down that menu! The Spa: Spa Sha is Kura's on-site spa, which is also an open-air concept and beyond relaxing. I'm not even much of a massage person. We did two treatments (romantic treat and signature massage), both of which were incredible. We also loved the poolside complimentary massages in the mornings. A special thank you to the spa staff! Our Room: Kura was kind enough to upgrade us for our honeymoon to the Master Suite, which we are incredibly thankful for. The room was absolutely stunning...the best we've ever seen anywhere in the world and better than any Four Seasons or other brand-name luxury property. The design is just incredible. We will be back to book this room in the future for sure! You have an iPad to communicate with the concierge if you ever need anything brought to your room, which is a convenient touch. We loved waking up each morning to the birds and monkeys outside, and having coffee in our plunge pool. You feel like at all times you are immersed in the jungle, but also with an ocean view in total and complete privacy. Excursions: Kura has an excursion book you can look through to pick and choose from, and coordinates everything for you. We did the zipline canopy tour and ATV tour, both of which we highly recommend for anyone who loves adventure. There are tons of options for non-adventure folks too. Two outside excursions were perfect for us, as we wanted to (and did) spend most of our time enjoying the property, either at the main infinity pool or outside in our plunge pool. The best part of Kura is the property itself, but we definitely recommend getting out to do an excursion or two to explore the local area and mountains. We got to do some really fun waterfall slides and jumps out there. Getting there: The road up and down is FUN...as long as you are not driving. Kura makes everything so easy for you. They will arrange local flights and drivers so you don't have to risk driving up the road yourself. So much fun as a passenger. Also a special shoutout to all the Kura drivers! Other noteworthy mentions: Thankfully this happened on our last day, but my wife had a sudden ear infection and Kura was beyond helpful to us. We are very appreciative of this. The staff got her right to a local clinic and she had medication in her hand and we were back at the resort in under an hour (FAR better care than America!). Your mind can be at ease if medical care is a concern to you while traveling abroad. Also, we did a short trip to the beach down below to see the famous Whale's Tail. That was nice, but again, Kura's property is by far the highlight. We've never spent as much time and had as much fun as we did in Kura's infinity pool, and lounging with drinks in-hand poolside. The beauty of Kura, 5-star friendly staff, the food, and total seclusion are all that makes Kura the perfect destination for a honeymoon, romantic getaway, or unique luxury trip with friends. We've never left a vacation feeling as relaxed and happy as this one. I also recognize this is not going to be in everyone's price range, but if it's in the range of what you typically spend on travel, it's worth every penny. And, for what it's worth, a 7-day trip to Kura would be better than a 14-day trip anywhere else in the world. We can't wait to return, either on our own or with friends and family. Nos vemos pronto, y Pura Vida!…
If you're looking for a secluded and luxurious escape in Costa Rica, look no further than Kura Boutique Hotel. This hidden gem is nestled in the lush jungle and offers guests stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious, and extremely comfortable, with all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and always goes above and beyond to accommodate you. The hotel's restaurant serves delicious meals made with fresh, local ingredients, and the bar offers a great selection of fresh tropical drinks. They also offer a variety of amenities and activities such as yoga and full body massages — which I was able to easily book and I thoroughly enjoyed. They even offered complimentary massages by the pool on my last day there. Although I think this hotel is ideal for couples, my friend and I stayed here for her birthday, and we had an incredible time. Overall, Kura exceeded all of our expectations and I highly recommend staying here to anyone looking for a peaceful yet luxurious escape.…
the accommodation was extremely comfortable and large with wonderful views over the ocean. There are a few design issues with the room but noting to complain about. I cannot criticise the hotel at all and would stay there again. The food was excellent and the staff helpful and friendly. The tours are expensive. We took two guided tours which were good i.e. one to the waterfalls and a half day tour to the Corcovado national park which cost US$500. There are inclusive concierge services and laundry.
Kura is amazing. It is one of these places where one would like to stay forever! After a nerve rekking 15 minutes on bumpy roads which seem to lead to nowhere a discreet black gate pumps up and you are in paradise. In the middel of the jungle this minimalistic zen building appears with a true infinity pool and a restaurant which depending on the whether can be closed or open at 3 sides. This is the ultimate inside out! But what is a beautiful place without good service? The team at Kura is extremely friendly, competent and helpful. The massages were the best we have had for a very long time, the place is immaculately clean even though it is located in this challenging tropical climate, lovely food, we could not get enough of the carpaccio and when we asked for a drive to the park, they gave us towels and water without us needing to ask for them. The only negative I can think of was the weather. So we could not fully the pool. But what do you expect in the raining season? So a big thank you to everyone at Kura and especially to Daniel and Jairo. Guys you made us feel so at ease, leaving became hard!…
A truly beautiful facility, and the staff are phenomenal. We stayed 10 days and enjoyed every minute. We had a suite with a private infinity pool overlooking Uvita Beach and the famous Whales’s Tail national park. Stunning. We highly recommend Kurà and plan to come back soon!
My husband and I spent our a 6-night honeymoon at Kura and we couldn't have been more relaxed, happier, or pleased! The hotel was kind enough to arrange a car from San Jose; the driver was kind, polite, and efficient and although it was about a 3 & 1/2 hour drive, it flew by. He even stopped at Crocodile Bridge! Once we arrived at the resort, we couldn't stop saying "wow!" The view is amazing, and photos will never do it justice. We were greeted with refreshing drinks and given a quick rundown of the resort. Since this was our honeymoon, we splurged for the nicest room and were not disappointed. The most jaw dropping moment was walking through our door and seeing the view from our room! The room was beautiful and minimalistic. The huge shower with a view of the rainforest was amazing. The hotel gives you an iPad to communicate with them for any needs, but also with the food menu, excursions details, and other information you might need. The staff was wonderful! So welcoming, kind, and nothing you asked seemed to be a bother. Big bonus: laundry was complementary! This was a fantastic bonus as we did a few excursions that left us with wet, smelly clothes. It was great to have them taken care of to avoid stinking up our luggage for the trip home. Food! So delicious each day. My husband LOVED the sushi and a special lobster dinner they had one night. Even though I am a vegetarian, there was plenty for me to enjoy and they were able to accommodate on a few dishes that weren't already meat-free. The fruit and fruit juices they serve at breakfast were so tasty! Cocktails delicious and a great mix of classics and unique options. Weather: We went during rainy season and the forecast looked daunting; rain and thunderstorms 100% everyday? Don't believe the forecast. While we did get rain most nights, the mornings and afternoons were typically quite clear. The temperature was around 75 most days and not too hot. And remember- this is the rainforest. If there wasn't rain, it wouldn't be so amazingly beautiful! I feel like I could keep going with all the things I loved about the resort, so I'll wind it down now. You will not regret staying here! Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to really wind down and relax and really enjoy the view. I wish I could go back already!…
We came to this hotel for our dream honeymoon. And we sure found it. This is like a piece of paradise on earth. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The view was to die for… your in the middle of the mountains, surrounded by clouds and all type of beautiful birds, facing to the whale tail beach. This resort is more than I ever dreamed Costa Rica would be. All the staff here Cindy, Daniel, Adrian, Luis, Jairo, Sergio, Lalo y Roberto are really friendly, happy and will do anything for you. Always calling us by our first name, that was really sweet. That’s without mentioning all the people backstage chefs, cleaning crew, gardeners that we didn’t have the pleasure to meet by name. Everyday was lovely to go to the pool or restaurant the love smiley faces of the staff. The infinity pool is one of a kind. And the food, dear God. They made an special caldo de lomito for me and I couldn’t get enough of it. And they have this native fruit called Mamon Chino that now became one of my favorite fruits. This is definitely for honeymooners. Beautiful sounds of the forest. Quiet and peaceful. I’m really happy this was our choice for our honeymoon! Is the best way to start your marriage in peace, in love and more close than ever. Pura Vida!!…
My husband and I just got back from a trip to Costa Rica where we spent 4 nights at Kura, and WOW! Everything was impeccable. From the views, the grounds, amenities, staff, service, food. Can't say enough good things. This is a very small hotel, with only 8 suites, so at times you feel like you have the entire hotel to yourself. The staff is very attentive and personable, making sure every moment of your stay is nothing but exceptional. My husband had developed a sinus infection while we were there and the staff went above and beyond to help get us to a doctor and make sure he was feeling well during our stay. They even offered to drive down the mountain to get him ibuprofen (which we declined) but what a kind offer! We 10/10 recommend this hotel for couples looking for a romantic time away. An oasis in the sky with amazing views, food and service. The complimentary bag off Kura coffee as a good-bye gift really topped it off. We'd definitely come back and have already recommended this hotel to friends and family.…
We had an amazing experience at this place. We went for our honeymoon and the hotel staff made sure that everything was perfect. Their hospitality was beyond words and the view from this place was breathtaking.
