Hidden in the hilltops overlooking the pristine beaches of Costa Rica's still-virgin south pacific, where the ocean crashes into the jungle sits La Cusinga. Tucked away in a private reserve of over 600 acres, this rainforest lodge provides guests with sweeping ocean views, sandy beaches, natural pools, and the chance to experience the burgeoning forests and astonishing wildlife of the country's most famous ecosystem - OSA. The hotel offers ten rooms designed with sustainably-harvested wood and local materials to maximize comfort while minimizing impact on the environment. The open-air restaurant creates an ideal setting for couples and families alike to enjoy delicious tropical dishes made with fresh produce grown on our farm. The lodge's genuine commitment to sustainable practices along with our first-hand experience in local and national conservation efforts enrich our guests' appreciation of these ecosystems and the importance of their continued preservation. This unique insight enhances the exploration of the natural surroundings while the beautiful location offers the tranquility of fresh ocean breezes and breathtaking sunsets that make for the perfect tropical escape.

We came to have a relaxing time in the rainforest beside a beautiful beach and easily enjoyable nature. We have never been disappointed and this was our third stay over many years. A special place for those seeking tranquility amidst glorious nature.

We stayed here on our honeymoon and it was definitely one of the highlights of our time in Costa Rica. The views from the restaurant and from the rooms are truly spectacular. Hummingbirds, toucans, howler monkeys, agoutis and all manner of other wildlife is all around. There are

The cabins are nice, clean and comfortable. The wildlife sightings in the area are wonderful. Beach access is good with a deserted beach within a trail hike. The on-site restaurant is delicious. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Be sure to check out the river pool hike

This place is a gem. The location is spectacular, the food delicious, the people very friendly and helpful, and the accommodations beautiful and fairly comfortable. The best part is being right in the jungle. Every day we hiked the trails, and every hike we saw something new

I think it only had ceiling fans but it was comfortable and there are lots of plants to give shade outside.

At the moment it is nice weather. Rains in the afternoons and night. Bring some rain gear. Enjoy the rain, and the weather.

La Cusinga has a fresh water pool reached across a footbridge & down a twisting path. Since we arried in a heavy rain, the next day the pool was cloudy and we didn't swim. The pool is fed by 2 small waterfalls. I did not take the trail to La Cusinga's beach, but my husband did. He said it was lovely, albeit a bit rocky. He reported that the trail down was a bit rough.
